    10/22 Stock Options

Just bought a Ruger 10/22 and want to get rid of the ugly ass stock that comes on the gun and make it look a little better. I'm trying to figure out what is going to look best and still allow me to screw my silencer on the end of it. Gun nuts, voice your opinions! Here's the 3 versions that I'm considering:

MG42 Stock Kit (Not sure if I can remove the Flash-hider to install my silencer, but BAD ASS looking for sure! Still waiting to hear back from the Mfg.):

    Krinker Plinker:

Bullpup (Would have to thread the end of the barrel to attach silencer):

As long as your welder doesn't feel the same about my car, I guess I'll be OK with that.

If I didnt know you Ed, I would think you were crazy..... Well,,,,, nevermind! Honestly, its no crazier to have all of that firepower as it is for all of us to want quadruple the HP/TQ that our cars make. You know what I mean? However, if you start buying bazooka's, then I would be a little worried!

You know, you can actually buy a working one if you can find one. It's deemed a Destructive Device (DD) by the ATF and you have to pay a $200 Tax Stamp and pass the same background check as Maching Guns & Silencers. Of course, if you want to shoot it, each live round is also considered a Destructive Device and you pay $200 and also do the same background check again for EACH round. Talk about expensive to shoot!

As for the Ruger 10/22 I bought, you have to admit, any of the stocks are a BIG improvement over the way the gun comes from the factory:

Only a .22? Wow! Looks more intense than that. As you can tell, I know NOTHING about guns. Never even shot one.

I had a 10/22 about ten years ago. It had a cheapass, folding stock on it. I don't remember the name. Any of these look much better. I'm pretty sure they don't make these clips anymore, but I had two, plastic 50 round clips that snapped together. They would jam up occasionally, but if you could get through 100 rounds, you could catch leaves on fire with the barrel.

I'll bet money that the stock was a Butler Creek (Mini-14) stock that made you think you were Hannibal from the A-Team.

The 50 round mags are still around, but rather pricy ($65 and up) as the 30 round ones (Under $10 each) are more common.

The newer 30 round ones are pictured on the Krinker Plinker guns. Here's the newest style 50 round mags:

that looks excellent. the old 50's had a banana-curve to them and you'd have to take them out of the gun and beat on them to unstick the shells. NO GOOD!

That looks like it, but the whole thing was plastic. Everything is much easier when you're dumber and poorer because you don't have as many options.

Ed, you need to go on this site, this is the biggest gunsite on the net. In this link you will see many 10/22 options.

OK John, who makes this stock kit:

I like the look of the H&K butstock and it looks like you could change the butstock out for a collapsable one. I guess this is what you would have if an AR and a H&K were put together. I'm leaning towards doing the Bullpup stock cause it would be a nice compact package with the silencer on it. Hell, I could actually buy both the Bullpup and MG42 kits for less than the Krinker Plinker.
