Well I have not run a drag radial on a mustang since 2000 and I don't think I will even attempt to do so ever again. I mean seriously how the hell does anyone get these to hook decent. I figured I'd go to the TnT tonight and see how I could deal with them and maybe run them Saturday.
First pass, 15psi decent burnout leaving at a mild 3500 and instantly spun. Lifted and got back in it cutting a 1.94....bah
Next, drop tires to 14psi, Left at 3000, instant spin but somewhat less and go 1.83...bah again
Softened struts to #1 and again no luck spun with another 1.82
Last pass put tires to 16psi and left at 4000 for hell of it. Spun..go figure and car ran quickest of night a pitiful 13.14@106
Car was an easy 5-6 tenths slower on the drag radial. Hitting rev limiter at top end since they have no growth like a slick and I have it bumped up to 6300. Shift light set at 5700 and was on at 1000' and smacking rev limiter before traps. So back to then junk slicks which at least cut 1.70 sixties and are far lighter to spin.
Only good thing tonight was I found my spot on the tree again. -.002red, .016, -.009 and .010
