Come on don't give up on the ole 302 yet.Check out HP turbo kits or go 331 with a supercharger. If you got the cash you can make a 302 run with just about anything.I'm in the same situation as you are where I want more power, but not sure what route to take.

a turbo stroker would be awsome, but those tubo kits are expensive as hell, 3K-4K without the turbo, then the turbos are a grand plus

Boss 302 block will do that..

No 4v heads are for the 4.6L

How big you wanna go and how much cash you got to spend is what you need to decide before you start any build. ANd if your looking for alot of hp KB is not the way to go on a 302

if I'm gonna do a swap I dont mind dropping a decent amount of cash, Id rather put quality parts in it to begin with then have to go back n swich it later on, I deff like the idea of stayin with a small block, I dont want to go with a 427 or sumthin like that. Id like to stay with sumthin around 347 with a power adder, I thought that the boss blocks cylinders were too short for a 347 setup?

If it was me I'd buy a dart sportsman block and make a 363ci out of it. I only went 331ci with my dart block because my turbo kit came with a T64e and any more cubes than 331 would have been way too much for it, however I also hoped to someday buy a T76 for it and 331ci would be enough to support the larger turbo. Lucky for me I now have my T76, but I don't have the funds for the fuel system so the turbo if just sitting here collecting dust. :(

Keep in mind that if you go 363ci, you should buy a turbo/turbo kit that is setup for a T6 flange style turbo and not a T4. A t4 flange on that many cubes becomes a real restriction and produces a large amount of back pressure in the turbine housing.

As Paul said that dart block is also a very good block that would hold up to some serious power...

Depending on how much power you want, 331 may be enough depending on what your looking for. The reason i keep bringing up 331 is from all the sites i have been on and articles i have read and people i have talked to 331 seems to be the most popular setup for stroker + power adder. I usually see guys with 347s only have spray for the most part. I am not saying that there are not guys doing it, but I just have not seen it too much. One of my best friends had a 306 with H/C/I with a s-trim and he made around 400 I THINK, i will ask this weekend when i go home and it was a 11 sec car...

But for serious power I would do

    331
    Holley systemax II intake
    AFR heads
    custom cam
t-70 turbo kit from B&G racing
    and all your supporting mods

Sweet, but I think thats there race only intake.May be overkill on the streets with a 90 mm TB.

another quick ? is the boss block compatible with a 331 stoker kit? I know there was a concern with a 347 coming out the bottom, but would a 331 work??
