Well, I finally bought my first Harley...

2006 Sportster 1200 Custom. Maroon/Black two-tone, 776 miles, Screaming Eagle A/C, re-jet, Vance and Hines Straightshot exhaust.

My buddy called me a middle-aged, mid-life crisis having sell-out. I've been riding bikes and been in a "crisis" since I was 5 years old. There's no way I was going to make it through this life without owning one or ten.

I'll post up some pics in December when I get some time, the weather gets bad and I'm done riding it for the season.

Nice. I found time to post a pic of mine, you must post yours! Going to the Z&M party this weekend? Me and a buddy of mine are going Sunday morning. We must all be having our mid-life crisis because he bought his Dyna-lowrider the same time as I got my nightrain about a month ago LOL

Nah, of all weekends, I got stupid committments. On Saturday I got a 5-year-old's birthday party to go to. I'll either drive (the bike) serparate or be the stupid drunken guy drinking beer with his cake.

I drove it home today at lunch time in my sissy work clothes. I email Wifey to tell her it was home and she writes, "OH my God, you didn't ride that home without a helmet did you?"

I said, "Yeah and I didn't have a jacket, sunglasses, boots, a diaper or a tampon either because I'm a f@cking badass, that's why."

Needless to say, her relationship with the cycle is getting off to a rocky start.

Do y'all wear your helmets? I got a full-face helmet from when I had my sportbikes and I just ordered a little flat-black German job. I'll probably play brain-bucket roullette and wear my helmet SOMETIMES.

nope havnt wore a helmet since i was 18. and i ride all kinda bikes all the time from built up gsxr1000s to scooters lol

I try to always ride with a helmet on... even though it is usually just my little German non-DOT lid. If I know I'm going to do some twisties on my Buell, I usually wear a full-face helmet with gloves and boots. I do highly recommend always wearing pants though, no shorts! I have seen 2 pretty serious bike accidents in the last 5 years and it makes you think you should wear full leathers all of the time. Obviously a helmet is probably the most important piece then I would say pants and boots... I know 2 guys who have gotten a foot taken off because of wearing low cut tennis shoes and if they would of had on riding boots, this probably wouldn't of happened.

BTW...the bike looks good. For the money, I think Sportys have a great look... I'm willing to bet you'll love it
