i always hear pretty good things about prochargers...i think if i were you an this day of age go with turbo...the sound is amazing an you can have more or less power at the turn of a knob if you want...just my 2 cents

i had a procharger on my 95 cobra, and it was ok. they run (at that time atleast) a one belt system, so it was VERY hard to keep the blower pulley from slipping. i'd vote for turbo first, then vortech.

no matter what power adder you put on its going to generate heat..just make sure you have the right cooling mods so it doesnt get as hot.

I know procharger had seal issues with self contained models in the past, that was back in the early 2000's and I bought a regular d-1 because of that. They sound good and make just as much power per pound of boost as any other intercooled sc. Why are you worried about heat in the engine bay?

+1, get some headers if you want to reduce your underhood temps for some reason.

Prochargers are basically like a belt driven turbo, they make their peak boost at redline, where as turbos and positive displacement blowers (KB, whipple, etc) make boost throughout the RPM range, because of that they generally make more power under the curve and more torque, but lower peak hp values. All that is a huge generalization that I just said, so if somebody wants to comment more on them or correct me, I'd be thankful

Bo I actually think procharger claims the highest peak power #'s for centrifugal sc's..and especially over roots/twin screw blowers. Wait, I just reread and unerstood what you were saying..

if i was you and had the bottomend to handle it, I would def go turbo. you have no need to worry w/ the cow hood in your sig pic. That will pull all the heat out way better than a stock hood.

I guess it all boils down to the money also. Turbos arent cheap but make the most power and are great. I wouldve went turbo but couldnt pass up the offer I had w/ the KB.

2000GT can vouch for the seal issues but "I think" for the most part he's happy with his ProCharger.

Back in the day a Procharger with intercooler setup was hard to beat. I had a friend with just a stock 95 Cobra running a kit and he was knocking on the 10's door with just full exhaust, fuel system upgrades, and Procharger. One thing though is that you could beat on that car for a long time on the street and it never hick-up'd at all or slowed down. Once my S Trim Vortech got hot it was way down on power compared to his.

He did have seal issues though and eventually sold the car due to the oil leaking problems that always came back no matter how many times it was repaired.

im pretty sure that procharger has taken care of the seal issues. its a very nice setup and fairly easy to install.
