Yes congrats to the whole team! Way to go guys!

    Here is more info:

Steve Benyo and Team Saline Racing reset the World Land Speed Record in the Production Supercharged Class this past week at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Driving the CentiMark Mustang, Benyo eclipsed the previous mark of 213.12 by nearly 20 mph. The new record officially stands at 232.27, which represents the average speed of two consecutive runs, the best of which was 238.44 mph.
The CentiMark Mustang can now take claim to several other accomplishments beyond this particular class record, including:
    • World’s Fastest Late-Model Production V-8
    • World’s Fastest Gasoline-Powered Mustang
    • World’s Fastest Production Mustang

It should be noted that only seven cylinders were firing for the final two miles on both the record run and the qualifier run, so there are more chapters to this story yet to be written!
Thank you to all of our sponsors, crew and supporters who made this accomplishment possible!

Updated photos and video should be appearing soon on the Team Saline official web site www.LandSpeedMustang.com, so be sure to check it out in a few days.

It's amazing what goes into running those kind of numbers on the salt. Back in the day I followed along when Rick Byners was chasing 200 mph in his Merkur. Amazing how much needed done to get a 200 mph average.

I did LOTS of work on that car when I was working with Jim Locke. That car is the definition of sick. Hell, it was brutal when he was still driving it on the street every day.

I'll leave it up to Steve to explain why all the work you are refering to was removed or redone. This is exactly why it took a lot of money and time for Steve and his crew to get where they are with the car today. This thread is to give Steve and his crew a pat on the back for a job well done, not to talk about all the shops that USED to work on the car.

For the record, I am in no way trying to take any credit for Team Salines accomplishments. I had every opportunity to be a large part of this but chose not too for many different reasons, I played a very small part. Just wanted to throw that out there before someone else tries to whore the thread up
