    Winter upgrades

This winter for my senior project i'm doing work on my car.(1986 GT) I have between 1000-1200 to spend, give or take a few bucks. I HAVE to do shocks springs and struts because mine are horrible but anything else is up for discussion. What do you guys think, I'm open for ANY opinions.

you have the FI correct? I am pretty sure they switched it halfway through 85, so if you are. Maybe try to find a set of used gt-40 heads, gt-40 intake, and a cam to throw in? Those could be had for around 600- 800 dpending on the deal you find

the gt-40 heads and intake are very easy to come by. I sold my cobra intake which is the same as a o/r gt-40 for 300 bux. and you could get a e cam or tricflow stage one came for about 120

def have to agree w.scott an get some heads an a cam, or do something like headers an then some appearance things so who ever judges your senior project can see what was accomplished. or maybe get a cam an upgrade your interior or something w/headunit, 99-04 leather seats etc. you can go endless with combos to do with around 800 to spend. you wanna do things that will be a good upgrade an that you can also show the judges

Be careful putting a cam into an 86. They came with flat top pistons that didn't leave much extra valve clearance for a bigger cam.

there are alot of things you could do also that does not cost any money what so ever.. And you can grab up a set of sn95 leather fronts seats and make your own rear seat delete for less than 200 bucks

Not a bad idea. I put these in my 85. Looks like they got a sale on them now too. I think I paid more than that two years ago for them. http://www.dssracing.com/Small%20Blo...%20pistons.htm
