I am not saying vettes are the best things in the world, cause everyone knows the viper and supra are, but they are still amazing autmotive machines, that can make some nice horsepower and be fast. Such as i have seen MANY videos of it taking a kb or whipple cobra to beat a stock c6 z06... Yea you say they cost more, but take in the value that they have and re sale for and blah blah blah. Still if people had the money i gurantee that there would be more vettes on the road.

Or if we really wanna compare cars modded to stock.. Lets bring out the ZR1?

Wow, from the sounds of this thread I better keep my mouth shut as to what vehicle I plan to purchase next. I must be getting older because for the first time in my life I can truly appreciate the corvette for what it is and I want one BAD. Sure the mustang is cheaper but its so far behind on so many levels that the two can not be compared IMO.

I want a 400hp, <3200lb car that can get 28mpg on the highway, has great brakes, and a great chassis that can handle great... oh yeah I want this all in a stock car too, not one that I'm wrenching on every weekend. I guess I want a C6 vette. I'm just tired of my loud, heavy, semi-reliable mustang and I want everything that the stock C6 provides. i hope in the next few years to get a C6 with the Z51 package. I will never sell my mustang but I'm just sick of always having to work on and having to dump money into it, and yet its still falls short of a lot of what the vette has stock. It will out handle me, out brake me, get way better mileage, and have all of the creature comforts that come from a stock unmolested car. Maybe I fell and hit my head, but these are things I've been thinking about a lot lately.

Factory modded I.E. different performance lvls per vehicle package lvl. I never said vettes were shit and yes each group has an attitude. Vette attitudes seem to be "I have a vette I got money and look down upon all you lesser car's" Lesser could even mean ls1 cars. The pony car attitude(not all but some) could be " Tired of the rich ass snobs flaunting their money with their super cars" Now, I know that doesnt mean all on each lvl are that way. I was a "GM" guy never a vette fan except like a 67 big block optioned vette with the aluminum head option. Now, that is a vette I like. As, far as the "ZR1" Model isnt it the supercharged version? Think I read about it when I was at goodyear getting a set of tires. I'm all for any big three muscle cars. I just sated in my last post my opinion. Maybe I should have been a lil more clear on the many different groups and possible attitudes they carry. But, as you come to defend the vette I came to defend the pony car. Not trying to be an ass. Hell I'd love to take a ride in your T/A just have no urge to ride in a vette.

Cant compare apples to oranges man, yea the whipple cobra has 400 more pounds and more wind drag, and less cubes, and after the upgrades it's still a cheaper toy than the Z06. As far as more vettes on the road, it seems like they are everywhere now, c5's and c6 galore around here. I would buy a new c6 over anything in it's price range if I had that kind of money and looking for a kick ass perf vehicle, but you cant compare the two stock for stock, doesnt make sense.

I don't think he was trying to compare apples to oranges.... i think he was showing the performance difference - that corvettes are apples, and mustangs are oranges.... mod the shit out of the precious terminator, and you MIGHT have the performance level of one of the newer top end corvettes. Somebody has presented a challenge (a stupid one at that!) of racing a "stock" vette.... some peeps in this thread have gotten a little pissy, and its because their modded car, probably won't outrun it.... There was no mention of price tags or anything of the sort.... I don't see why some people are so butt-hurt - or so it seems that way - hard to tell over the inter-web
