    Baseline Uppers installed

I blam Bob for my spending habits

Today the uppers and tomorrow the clutch. Gotta say it all started so smoothly until I tried to get my old spherical bearings out of the housing. Since they been in there for 4 years the aluminum housing welded itself to the cast iron center. Had to pull the rear out from under car and use my trusty BFH to beat them out. Found where my noise in rear came from. The spherical bearings were worn out bad. Got it all together and set it up with 2* down. My old double adjustable Steedas came out looking good. They held up real good with no signs of broken welds or stretching unlike the Grantelli crap they replaced before that I broke.

I'll see how I like the poly bushing ends at track, if not I will swap them for a set of rod ends. On street car is noticably quieter with less noise from rear transmitting into car.

    Trusty BFH in background :)

Your gonna love it, that the same setup I have except mine is the Pro-Launch.
Why did you choose the Street Launch?

I figured I'd give the poly chassis ends a try. Mostly to reduce noise coming into car. Since it's a 3/4" thread I can swap to a quality rod-end if I don't like them. I'd expect if these work as good as I think they will that my sixty times should hit in around 1.58-59. Maybe quicker if my clutch turns out as messed up as I think.

    Kevin has been very helpful.

Relocates upper pivot point upwards which changes instant center moving it from in front of front bumper to around middle of car. That improves launch by adding more anti-squat, helps keep rear planted and not unloading tires and better weight transfer.

let me know how you like this set up. i was driving my car today and felt it pull out a little odd and pull to the left so i got under it and noticed the upper control are bushings are already completely trashed.

Well I got to drive around some today trying to put miles on the clutch. Seems to be big difference in how car leaves from a stop. Completely changed from over stock type setup with the Baseline setup. I may have to hit up the next TnT just to make some launch passes or try and run it out and kill off the tranny the right way finally

A few pictures might sum up what it does ;)

This was from last year with mine, 26" tall tire, note how far the tire dives into the wheel well...............

Same car, taller 27" tire and baseline suspension set-up. Note the clearance above the tire at launch, even with a taller tire........

That is the anti-squat that the kit builds into the car. My car would hit the tires so hard it would hook for a bit, then unload the tires and go into spin as it came out of squat. The baseline stuff stops it from squating so much, and now it just transfers weight and goes forward.

The attitude of still picking up the front end without the squat is a function of the instant center location. There is more to it too, but that's the basics.

If you have seen the videos of pure stocks car you have seen them in action. We installed them on his car a few years ago. Mine have been sitting in the garage waiting to be installed for a while now.
