Talking Ran the Turbo Focus: 14.74@95.97 (vid)

This was my first time racing the Focus since the turbo, and only the second time racing a FWD.
Overall I'm satisfied with the performance of the car and my driving.
This track is known for poor 60' times, so I don't think I'll be able to get it down much more without drag radials or slicks or go to another track.
I hope to run at Mason Dixon Dragway around October, which is 750' lower elevation and a better track all around.

I'm quite pleased with the Exedy stage 2 clutch and the Phantom Grip combo.
The clutch grabbed hard between gears and the PG kept both tires planted.

I did get some wheel hop when doing a burnout.. mainly on the right side which doesn't have a poly mount.
Wheel hop when launching was minimal. Nothing like when it was stock thanks to a poly dog bone mount and tranny mount.

I typically powershift at the track, but I have not brought myself to pound that hard on my daily driver.

    I was hoping to see a 14.5 sec slip today with a 2.0 60', but I'll take a 14.74.

    Details:
Tires are Fuzion HRi 205/50-16. Not exactly drag tires. :)

Good question. Going by other turbo Foci and track times I'm guessing right around 200whp/200tq.
    I wouldn't think higher than 210whp.

Great times. Hopefully you will do better at Mason dixon...only thing is there you HAVE TO drive thru the water box and they are very very picky with prepping the track on test and tune days.

The car definitely suprised a lot of people.
I was approached a lot more than I expected.
Unfortunately 15psi or so is about all the plastic intake manifold and stock rods will take.
11-12psi seems like a nice balance between longevity and fun.

    Around 2700lbs.
It's just over 2600 stock, plus the turbo stuff and a small amp.
Oddly enough I haven't had the speakers for that amp in the car for months. I should just take it out.
Next time I'll do some weight reduction since I have a baseline now.

That's a cool little sleeper. If you can, come to PRP on a regular race day and run Street. Track prep on a test n tune goes away quick, but it's usually good on regular race days. Street runs after Mod and Top, so there's a lot of good rubber down then.

Sounds fun. I probably won't get a chance this year.
I have a 1.5 month old baby here I need to help care for. :)

On another note, I noticed the car is actually at 9.5psi today, not 11psi like I thought earlier and I haven't adjusted the wga rod.
