    upper control arms ????

ok so i bought the upper and lower conrol arms about 2 months ago i installed them and it felt great. i only raced it twice with them installed so you wouldnt think that would be too much stress or anything for that little amount of use. i drove into pitt yesterday for that rib cook out and my one friend following me said something fell out from under my car so i slowed down and then i could hear it make a clunking noise when i was pulling out and i knew exactly what it was. both of the upper bushings are shot and the one side is even totally gone. i was wondering if anyone had this trouble or is there any other bushings to get or should i bite the bullet and buy a new set up?

That is one of the things I wanted to ask, you definitely have to use that stuff. Was the car level and the suspension loaded when your torqued the bolts?

Bushings usually just don't fall apart like that, most of the time it is installer error. Sounds to me like you did everything right, maybe you got a bad run? It definitely happens with all parts, I see it all the time. I have had great luck with the steeda pieces and I just put some real nice ones on for a customer a little while ago...I believe they were CHE??? http://www.cheperformance.com/CartGenie/prod-162.htm

    Best of luck to ya

I ran stock 86 control arms for years and even up to 500 HP and low 11 second runs. Then I switched to UPR poly arms similar to yours. First run at the track and I split the bushing just like yours. UPR said solid only for my kind of power. I went solid UPR and it works great.
