    No more Sunoco 94

Well I just took my 408W Mustang for a ride. I usually start up the engine about once a month while its covered in the garage for the winter. Well since today was 55 degrees and the roads are all clear, I decided to pull it out and take it for a spin. Still runs good.

I drove down to Uniontown and went to the same Sunoco right on Rt40 down from the mall. I have been getting gas here for years and I've nothing but Sunoco 94 (or higher) since I put the 408 together. Well all the pumps are a max of 93. The guys working behind the counter said Sunoco is dropping their 94 line and only will carry 93.

Did a little research and this seems to be world wide.

Is there any 94 octane gases out there now? (sold at the pump and not by the barrel).

Forgive me for saying this, but I can't help myself...

E85? What a corny thing to suggest.

I'm suprised Sunoco 94 lasted at the pumps this long. With the price of gas very few would be buying the stuff and it will only go bad sitting.

E85 has a high octane rating. ....100 to 105 octane.

Agreed. Fascinating web page if anyone is interested:

However, I was trying to be cutsie-blonde-bimboish with the corny statement. I think there is a TV ad touting that some ethanols are made from corn.

Yep...i found this out last month....

I'm running 10.5:1 iron-headed combo and kept my timing the same with the 93 stuff....no detonation so i'll just live with the 93.
