This... I read an article a few years back about how PennDOT uses some shitty mix of asphalt that has a much lower life span than many other major cities. Which is why streets need paved every 3-4 yrs and are filled with potholes.

You have to "know" someone... no lead shovel operator experience required. They prefer someone that votes for one certain party too.

My buddy got on with PennDot a year ago. It's true you have to know someone.

Ugh, not quite sure I can do that to myself.. I'll have to lie that's all. I mean they always lie, so I just figured that would be part of the job? Haha..

I really wish I knew someone I'd quit my job here in a heartbeat to go work for PennDOT.. They are so lazy.

I tried to get on there in the mid 90's... my dad "knew" someone... I thought the starting pay sucked.

So I spent all day working on my beater and my truck. Car needed a new converter to pass inspection 100 down the drain. Went to put breaks on the truck and ended up replacing a wheel bearing to. Their was another 200 their with the breaks and the hub assembly.

No, I'm a Radiologic Technologist. So I take care of all the PennDOT whiners who "injured" themselves.. Very few of them work, and when they do, they make sure to do the worst possible job.

An old friend of mine started working at penndot a while back as a seasonal plow driver. You have to usually wait for seniority to get a full time job there, believe it took him a few years. I've hear quite the stories from him about that place. Unbelievable how lazy some people can be.

Super garbage.. They've let the cinders at the interstate on-ramp down by my house continue to build up for like 5 years. I went around on the mustang and got caught on some (which is in the middle portion of the road) and almost wiped out.

PENDOT should be required to remove cinders they put down before November 15th and after March 15th... Since they need things to do

Bitch all you want about PennDOT.......like every organization they have the good and the bad. Unfortunately it's the bad that gets the attention and no one notices all the work of the good folks. The tough part is that they are union protected and it's damn near impossible to fire them.......the union is a huge PITA. Also makes it impossible to reward those folks that do a great job at thier work so they get bored and leave for more money elsewhere.
