Well, the GT simply CAN'T come home to a filthy garage. So now that we finally have some warmer temps I really need to get busy cleaning the winter filth out of there.

Mine is sitting in a warm clean garage, I cleaned it up a bit before I put her away for the winter. I can't wait until were seeing consistent 60's+ and I can get this car washed and ready to rock and roll for spring. I'm feeling a 8 hour detail day in my near future lol

Looks like your only chance this week is Monday. Rest of the week looks cooler.

First two days in phoenix were perfect temps. Then Friday was rainy and it got COLD! That night thunder woke me up 5 times and it rained buckets.

The next morning heading out to the airport at 5am this is what I see on the cars. What the hell? I lived in Phoenix for 10 years and saw 30 seconds of wet flurries. I hear it's getting colder there every year during the winter months.

If you get the opportunity... go for it! I did inside sales for 6 years before going into outside sales. Mostly just because I was waiting for a particular position to open up. It finally did about 2 1/2 years ago. There are a lot of perks to the job. Probably the best one for me is having a supercharged G8 for my company car, lol. But the perks can vary greatly depending on the company. For me, my base pay was essentially the same as I was making inside then I get my car allowance and any potential bonuses on top of that. Aside from that, I work from home, get most of my gas paid for, home internet and tv paid for, and a free cell phone.

And yes, they're hiring because I'm leaving at the end of the month, lol. Ended up taking an outside sales position with a different company after working for my current company for 8 1/2 years. Bittersweet change for me. Wasn't really looking for a new job because I really like my current job but one kinda fell into my lap. Moving into the natural gas industry which is booming right now. I'm going to be calling on compressor stations selling products that go on the huge engines(some up to like 370L) that run them. Was a little more money and selling to an industry I'm more interested in.

As for the cons, there are a few. When you're inside you're typically not really held responsible for meeting sales goals and such. I know when I was in inside sales there were a lot of times where I didn't have much to do. That's never the case in outside sales. There's always something you could be doing. The pay can vary a lot. For instance, if I stayed with my current company my pay this year would have been about 40% less than I made last year. That's only because I had a good year last year and now my quotas are unrealistically high because of that. It's not really a bad thing, I'll still make more than I did inside this year, but you just need to be able to budget and not go crazy spending like you're going to make that much every year.

There are a ton of things to consider when you're looking at an outside sales job. It's hard to go over all of them, but I'd be happy to help you out if you find a job you're interested in. Fell free to PM me with any other questions you might have.
Thanks for the write-up, that was very helpful. Yeah I've been pretty much busting my ass trotting all over the country doing trainings and sleeping in airports, and I'm straight salary with a profit share being my only possibility for a bonus. Just trying to get some more perks for the extra work I put in.

That really sucks man.. That's something I'm thankful that I don't have to do a ton of traveling right now. I had an opportunity for a Training position to do a lot of traveling, but the company wanted me to use my own personal vehicle, no increase in pay, etc. etc. I was like uh no? Lol.. If you want me to use my own car, pay me for it? lol

Yeah I mean I get paid mileage if I take my own car, but that is only for 5 hr radius. I did get to take my ride to the Woodward Dream Cruise on my way to a training in Grand Rapids, MI. That one paid well (~900 miles round trip) and I got to take my Stang on a nice road trip.

Sweet thats pretty nice.. I'd work primarily out of PA, WV, Virginia, Indiana, New Jersey, Delaware and Florida if I took the training position, but I didn't feel like being gone for up to a month at a time.. Plus, I don't feel like being away from my girlfriend for a month, nor not having the mustang to drive for a month either..

I wonder how many married guys would take a slightly different approach to this.

A lot that I know. But that's because their wives are idiots. I want to escape within 30 minutes of their presence...

That sucks! Not every woman is terrible.. I've had my run with some really crappy girls.. My one ex, was a real pile of garbage, well.. They all were, but whatever lol.. I worked 60+ hours a week when I lived with my one ex. And that still wasn't enough time away. If I was still with her now, I would have taken that trainer job, and probably 3 other jobs just so I wouldn't have to go home.. hahaha
