VR1 was my first choice on the new motor. It wasn't available so I did Brad Penn instead at the request of the engine builder. It was a little more money but I wasn't going to use royal purple. The VR1 was about a week out. Wasn't waiting that long.

A lot of them go out way before then.
What oil filter? I can't believe how clean that is!

I used the Fram ultra synthetic. Supposed to be good up to 15K, and I changed every 10K. I've heard a lot of bitching on the internet about Fram, but it seemed to work ok for me. Overall I'm definitely happy with the Mobil 1 Extended Performance and Fram Ultra Synthetic combo. Since the G8 takes almost 9 quarts it was around $60 per oil change even doing it myself, but with only doing it every 10K it cost about the same as changing every 5K with regular oil and filter.

I'd rather have a SC Rambler with a cup holder for the Yeti.

Yeah. They do. I'm out there enough too.
I was told I had to run 20w50 in mine. NAPA has some 10 30 here in Carnegie. They stock the oil but didn't have any at that time and it was a while till they got it in.

A $100 oil change does bite some but oh well. Cost of having fun!!

Seriously? I'll have to take a pic on the price at the Carnegie advance. It was $11.88 per quart!

I'd settle for the SC/Rambler without a cup holder.
