Finally have the ls3 in the car. Another couple hundred miles and a tune then hopefully a few runs before the season ends.

I had RK in 1993 when it first came. Best 2500 I ever spent.

This weekend I found a guy that sells fresh eggs for $2/dozen. Felt like I hit the jackpot and bought 5 dozen.
I grew up with chickens, etc. and would have them but I live in city limits in the big city of Fairmont, WV. Most people around here want $3/dozen or more. Not gunna do it.

I'm out of chickens right now. Stray dog came around and chased them off/killed a bunch. I was at work when it happened. A few came back but turned wild and got eaten by critters. In the meantime I'm revamping the coupe for some new birds. My eggs sold for $2/dzn.

We have been buying farm fresh eggs any time we can. Such a noticeable difference in quality.

We are moving next to a farm with chickens and Alpacas. Have a feeling I may be paying for a few because of these assholes.

Damn Facebook is good for something. Picked up these 10 ply Hankook Dynapros off of a flea market on there for 525 bucks. They're practically brand new. Should do good in the winter on the old chome stockers. 20160909_163229.jpg

Had a nice night tonight. Went to a cruise at Dependable drive-in. Not a huge turnout but some great rides and nice owners. Really neat '68 International Travelall - you NEVER see those around - a sweet '32 Ford 3-window coupe - a '58 Impala with a factory 348 Tri-power and a 4-speed ( one of 125 made ) - a super clean '58 Olds - a nice '63 Riviera - and one of my all-time favorites...a really nice '58 Plymouth Fury...red just like Christine. $10 got each car into the cruise plus a great double feature....American Graffiti and Christine. Weather held up until the end of the first movie and light drizzle thru movie #2. Had a great time hanging out with the Farrell's!

I had the left lower bolster on the driver's seat of my F250 repaired today. Really nice guy in Freedom ( just past Baden on Route 65 - about 30 minutes from Greater Pgh Airport ). Matched the factory cloth exactly, and repaired the badly damaged foam. EXCELLENT work and VERY VERY reasonable. If anyone needs quality upholstery work for a great price I highly recommend him. Shoot me a PM if interested and I can give you his contact info.

So this is what I've been up to lately other than working on my car. I try to run somewhat competitively in my 30-39 age group for someone who started running at age 32. Yesterday I completed my first half marathon and came in 21st out of 312. In any size race my goal is to be somewhere in the top 10%. Next up is a small 10K, and then the Army 10 Miler at the pentagon. The 10 miler has around 25,000 participants! Given my top 10% goal, that will still put me in 2500th place, lol.
If there are any runners on here, the Morgantown Marathon (and half and an 8K) was good but very hilly. Definitely a challenge!

Congrats! I am running the Great Race here in Pittsburgh on Sunday and have completed in a handful of other 5/10Ks and Half Marathons. I started about 7 yrs ago running for races and typically just aim for "better than the last race" as far as my times go. My last 1/2 I ran was in 2013 and my time was 2:22:xx. My best 10k time was 59:53 in 2012. I am aiming for the 58:xx range this year.

I've never been a runner....hurts my feet. I must not have the right stride or rhythm for it. But I do put on anywhere from 4-5 miles per morning on a PreCor Elliptical Cross Trainer. We have them in the gym at work. Dial up the elevation and resistance then grind it out.

Good luck! I'd like to run the Great Race sometime, but every year I'm on travel for work the same weekend as the race.

Long distance running is definitely a combination of things, the right gear, the right form and practice as well as mental readiness.

Thanks, I would definitely recommend the Great Race, since Pittsburgh is such a small city you see a lot in 6.2 miles.
