All these spoiled brats today with the need for instant gratification. They say piss on saving your money for a few years to have a nice down-payment. No way. I just want to put $500 down on this $500k house. That's how they think. It's scary. They're just plain stupid, as are the banks for loaning them the $$$. The market tanks, rates creep up, and PRESTO - none of these rocket-scientists can afford to make their payments - and they can't refinance - and they can't sell the house for what they have in it... They lose. The banks lose. And now we lose as both sides of this moronic situation get bailed out...

Clark Clark Clark. I'm sure 50 guys on this site could tell you the same thing. Look at it as a learning experience. I know I know I know. She was/is the best thing that's every happened to you. She's beautiful. You both get/got along great. You wanted to get married and spend all of eterntity with her. Now, you wish you were dead. You're praying to GOD and asking him what you did wrong and asking him to fix this.

Sometimes in life, this is the way things happen. Lighten up. You're what 19? 20? Are you willing to give up the next ten years (or more) of your life chasing strange ass around?

I'm not trying to be a 'Debbie Downer' here. Just a realist. Try to let it go. Find a new girlfriend (even if you don't even like her) and flaunt her around in front of all your(and her) old friends. Drink some booze. In time, things will improve greatly and you'll look back on this as another life lesson learned.

Ron, I agree with alot of what your saying but most young people here with average jobs cant save enough $ for a down payment in 5+ years with the high cost of everything now days. Anybody who goes with a variable rate mortgage is an idiot and deserves whats coming.

Agreed. I didn't put anything down when I bought my house. I could have if I sold my car, but I would have rather kept renting that do that. I don't know how it used to be, but it's really no big deal now they only make you pay an extra $50/mo. mortgage insurance or something like that. The problem isn't the mortgage companies, plain and simple it's the people who are expected to pay them. People don't have their priorities straight. Your bills have to come before booze, women, cars, etc. no matter how much you don't want to pay them

My grandfather used to work at a bank and he basically decided who got loans and who didn't and he never had one person default. I know in this overly PC world we could never go back to that kind of system, but it would be nice to have someone at the mortgage companies that was just paid to get a good judge of character.
