What's an FMU? front mount unit?
turned the BAP up a little & it seemed stronger. Mine is mounted in the glove box, so it may have been bumped unintentionally when I was going in and out of it. Also, on good gas without ethanol, the car's injectors were at 92% duty cycle, so on bad gas & with the 10% ethanol that PA now has, I think that the injectors may not have been able to get enough fuel in. The buyer also wants it catless so I'm going to pull them as well which would free up some more power (especially if one had a defect or was getting clogged or something)
dear god!!

Is this the car you want?? It looks amazing!! Most good tuners will tell you they wont even touch a car with an fmu on it, kind of a band aid tune of sorts.
This is with mustangs and im assuming it would be the same with vipers as well. The right way is to upgrade to a bigger injector and go with a custom tune, where im at with my notch right now.
no, I don't want that car! Too much $$, and I'd rather not deal with the headaches of the paxton right off the bat. Plus I'm not wild about those wheels.
Yet those same "tuners" will talk about MAF's "matched" to injectors
A FMU is generally pretty bad news for maximum power. It is simply a rising rate regulator where the fuel pressure is raised by the FMU ratio (2X, 6X, 12x, etc) referenced to the boost pressure.
Do not confuse this with a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator that is required on boosted applications ot keep the FP 1-1 under vacuum, or at boost. The pressure goes up with a referenced FPR, but only eaqual to the boost pressure keeping the pressure in the manifold (what the injectors see) the same as it was at atmosphere or under vacuum.
Probably one of my favorite vipers I've seen so far! Black on the red looking awesome and I'm usually not a fan of red lips but...![]()
