Hey Dan, you need to sponsor SCS with your business. I'm sure enough bike guys on here would have questions and business for you ???

    I have one now. hahahaha

This Sporty I got has v&h straight-shot slip on exhaust, screaming eagle stage 1 air cleaner and supposedley rejetted. Now, I've done some research. Apparently, you can replace the main jet and the slow jet, but the more common way of doing it is to just replace the main jet and fool with the idle-air mixture screw till you get it right. I know a carburetor is going to act differently in different climates, but I seem to get a carb-cough after cruising along at low rpm, then turning the throttle. OR, sitting at a light idling, not blipping the throttle and trying to take of... stumble.

It was real bad when I first got it. The idle SET screw was way out. It would not idle for shit. Then I get under the carb and see how many turns the idle MIX screw has and it's 5 full turns out. In my research, it told me to not have that screw more than 3 turns out. Well, after messing with it for a while, it runs best right at 3 turns outs, but it still has this minor stumble.

Do you think the slow jet needs replaced with a bigger one or will that cause me more problems?

    Thanks!

Cerini's did it to the softail when it was bought new...they put to big of a mainjet...and it coughed ALOT... jetting takes time and research not all jet setting work the same for every motor. Read you plugs.. or take one out and snap a pic of it and send it to me. it might be running rich..i doubt lean

nope. the only thing I really know for sure is the plug was removed to get to the idle-mix screw. maybe it still has the stock jets in it???

But, you have to drill that plug out, so the carb had to be off the bike. ???

I know this is going to lead to you taking it for a ride and 8 hours of trial-and-error labor.

I'll bring it over some day if the sun ever comes out.

Go to the "Main Event" in Donegal. The old Ponderosa?

Throw some business cards on the floor or ask the bartenders to give them to people.

I went by there Sunday afternoon and there were 200 bikes there, at least.

Well, it's only got 1,7xx miles on it. It runs better every time I ride it. Maybe just needs broke all the way in. Then, we'll mess with it.
