Lou, can you access everyone's profile/information like that or is it just after a ban? I noticed that you sent me a PM from this account as well.
Not saying anything he did was right, just curious/concerned if you're going through all of our PM's like you did with this account.

drove a G8 GT and a GTI with the DSG transmission yesterday.
Didn't like the G8 all that much. Nothing wrong with it, but not the best choice for me (made that mistake once, not going to do it again).
G8 GT
Pros:
-Accelerates great
-rides great
-gas mpg isn't bad for a 360 hp slush box sedan that size
-big trunk
-backseat is GREAT
-cool gauges (ricer moment, excuse me)
-engine sounds great at WOT, but very quiet just putting around.
-I think GM did a great job with the car from the factory, I wouldn't want to mod it at all.
cons:
-had a rattle when you turn the fan up more than a 1/3 of the way. That would piss me off.
-funky controls since they're all located in the center of the car
-brakes were not up to par with the rest of the car, in terms of feel. You needed to press them too far to get them to do what you wanted. it was just plain awkward IMO. Polar opposite of BMW brakes, because those are grabby as hell with very light pedal effort.
-RWD car in the snow isn't the best choice for me.
-Price. While a great value with the incentives and the deals you can get on them, to buy one you're going to eat the resale value of the car just like Olds buyers had to when oldsmobile got killed off. Price is also outta my league, and I can't even pretend to justify that on a car I don't like all that much.
GTI w/ DSG (twin clutch automated manual gearbox or something like that)
pros:
-even on my test drive I got 21 mpg. Going WOT, letting it idle to warm up, and driving from stoplight to stoplight at 50 mph
-transmission is SMOOTH AS HELL. I'm completely sold on the DSG. Very natural feeling for the most part. at WOT the shifts are lightning quick, and this is coming from a guy that always thought "oh I can powershift a VW/Audi transmission pretty close to that" but it can do it without crushing the syncros after 30k miles.
-almost as much useable space as the G8, minus the convenience of rear doors.
-better seats
-better stereo
-better ride
-more fun
-better brakes
-better handling
-better looking
-better insurance
-less expensive
-interior looks way more upscale all the way around
-car felt extremely tight/well built
-doors close like a safe vault
-turning radius is downright retarded how tight it is
cons:
-my hummer lease isn't up yet
-don't have one
-I'd probably want to mod it if I got a GTI (R32 is different story, pretty much perfect from the factory)
-they stopped producing the MKV GTI in october, so what you see on lots is what you get. the MKVI should hit dealerships in october, but the deals won't be there since its brand new.
-0%APR ends on july 3rd, my lease isn't up til nov 1st. I drove the car optioned exactly as I would want it (making the payments work is another issue though).
-I gotta drive an R32 to see if its worth buying a 1 year old low mile car for the same price as a new GTI.
oh and I'm almost positive I saw biminiLX on rt 19 in wexford driving his SVT Contour when I was driving the GTI
Lol at the vw cons....
"Don't have one"
Hahaha vw ftw!
lol its the troof
love the dub!! and I was just talking to Chad (blkP42E) about my trip to pick my hummer back up from service. I made the dumb mistake of not talking to his connection and got quoted $600 off MSRP if I wanted to do the 0% APR. Long story short, this is the first time I've actually felt insulted when window shopping a car. I know damn well what kind of deals are out there right now (beauty of the intranets, which I'm pretty good at). And I *think* the guy's name was Duane, but I'm honestly mad as hell about my experience. I'll give Chad's guy a shot just because I think that's my best price in this area. But I'm going to detroit this weekend for a bachelor party, and I might stop in to see what kind of prices I can get out there. I wouldn't mind not having to drive my hummer back for a 5+ hour ride on the highway, cause that's miserable in that thing lol
I think my heart is set on GTI though. Not that anybody other than Brian on this forum would really care, but I guess I use this thread as a blog sometimes
