The rover is OK, I like the Jeep Commander appearance better though. I know, the rover caries more "Status" but I guess im just not into that end of it.

lmao I love that clark posted right after you the opposite. I just drove an R32 on monday and I loved it. Its a fun take on a practical car. I drove the GTI back in the end of June & loved that too. They're really nice cars and I love the way they drive.
I've heard hit/miss with land rovers, but then again you can say the same about jaguars. (Or Volkswagens for that matter) My mom's on her 3rd one since 02 and she loves em. I don't think they've had to go to the shop for anything to get fixed at all. Her XF had to go back for a recall because she got hers when they first hit the states & it had to go back to get some updates they put on the second batch of cars or some BS. I'm not really worried so much about the reliability of the car to be honest. A few friends of my parents own LRs or RRs and they've been good to them as well. None of them were first model year cars, and for the LR3 that was 2005 and it had some issues that were sorted out by 06.
But I have heard horror stories, no doubt
IMO they're all pretty nice cars. Nicer than I need, no doubt. But you've never really known me for my practicality or self restraint when I really want something
My dad says the same exact thing, and to some extent I agree with you. The more I've looked into them the more I like them though. They're reasonably priced for everything they offer & hold their value pretty well. Plus they're doing 0% for 66 month on the new GTI right now
I liked the commander a lot til I was with a bunch of friends in vegas and we got one as a rental car. They don't do much well, and I've already gone down that road before (H3 = upscale uhaul, without the storage capacity).
agree with him that he doesn't fancy the VW or the LR, so go with the VW?
that truck makes my pants get tighter
Aside from the raptor I'm not really a pick up truck guy though, nor do I want to be, becaues all my friends will try to mooch it to move shit... and if I had a raptor, heads would roll if they messed it up!!
fap fap fap fap
but in all seriousness, even if I could get 0% its like 15k outta my league. I'd like to be able to get something really nice, but under 26 OTD is my absolute max. Unless there is something ridiculously underpriced, then I'd have to really cook the books
oh and the other reason I'm looking into staying with an SUV is for my dad.
For as long as I can remember, he's had an SUV because we'd always need it for something or another. He also used to always have a sports car that would get garaged, til he traded his denali and his m roadster in on his x5 and didn't plan on getting another sports car for a while (he never drove the M). We work together, and I live at home for the time being, so we talk a lot. We're pretty good friends. And before you judge me, there is no sense in getting a place right now, I may move to Omaha soon - in which case all this SUV crap goes out the window, and I'll probably sell my cobra too. But no rent = nice down payment :)
I figure, if I'm staying in Pittsburgh, and I get an SUV instead of a lil hatch back, we could swap cars whenever and it would be no big deal, and he could get whatever the hell kind of daily driver he wants. I know he really likes the BMW M5, and I know I wouldn't mind trading keys for that :)
