Thanks Rhino, but honestly I think he has me "figured out" wrong. Like I mentioned, if I was in high school and what he was saying was true - I'd be pretty upset. But its not, so all I can do is ask WTF? 'looking' at expensive shit is something he can do (and has done - Porsche Boxster thread??) on his computer the same way as I can. The fact that I've kicked the tires on three cars makes me money bags mcgee now? get the hell outta here lol
Here I'll even go through the 3 cars
1) a 23k stickered GTI that is discontinued and now discounted with 60 month 0%apr was the only one that was even concevibly doable for me. but its not. I'm not going to go cry to my parents about not having a dub. I'd probably get punched in the face for being a bitch.
2) I read shit about people getting G8 GT's for up to 10k off on the internet, saw they were doing 0% for 72 months, so I went to go check it out. again, I found out that they weren't going to move on the price like I had thought. life oges on
3) saw used c230 on a lot. I could actually finance an 05 just fine(14-15k for a decent example of one), I asked if I could look at the car, they paired me with a salesman and we were off on a trip before I even asked any questions about the car. we got in, started talking, turned out it was an 07 and they wanted 10k more than I did. so we cut the trip short, I apologized for wasting their time, salesman ran some quick numbers just to make sure, and I was on my way home. What I left out was the part about my dad looking at me like I was an idiot, the part where he asked me where exactly I was planning on coming up with that type of money, and a few other things to knock some sense back into me (even though the same thoughts had run through my head anyways).
I was just looking at those cars because its the nature of an automotive internet ninja with free time I'm not quite sure what to do with at this moment
They wanted 24k for the c230, and I know from my random searching on autotrader that M3's and CTSV's can be had for the same price. The C230 was the cheapest mercedes model when it was new. Something like 28k? How the hell does a two year old one cost 24k! that's all I was getting at lol
Those are both really nice cars! I love em! but I definitely have given the wrong impression of what I'm shopping for
I'm looking for mid teens realistically
hahahaha oh man, that just made me LOL! Sounds like a good night!!!!!
Bo (and everyone else), I apologize. I was drunk --- no excuses. And, it was a dick post. Sorry you had to go through the mental anguish of wondering WTF? and conjuring up those explanations for an old drunk guy.
Again... I am sorry. Dick post. No excuse.

haha oh yeah AMG SL65 is all me, as long as they will take 15k for it
I looked at the numbers they wanted and not like I was in the situation to do anything anyway, but this was the breakdown from memory:
here is what he came back with, because what's the harm in trying to sell an overpriced I guess?
23,600
2k down
526 a month for 48 months at 7.9% apr
total cost of the car 27262 before including TTL.
SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD DEAL WHERE DO I SIGN
Hell, you can lease an 09 C300 4matic (AWD version) with a sticker of 39xxx for 3000 down, 379 a month for 39 months. Why in the hell would anybody buy the 07 and save themselves 10k over buying a used one (assuming that it doesn't need any out of warranty repairs at all). The 07 wouldn't even be worth 10k as a trade in 3 years from now, plus you don't pay sales tax on a lease.
I looked at the time and figured you were drunk, but you didn't misspell anything, so I wasn't sure. That's why I didn't quote it, so that you could change it if that were the case. Although I feel like enough of the regulars on here have read it that it doesn't matter much at this point. Regardless, at least I know how you really feel eh?
Honestly, like I said, if things were they way you said they were, then I'd be mad, but you were wrong. Its not like I haven't been questioned about this stuff before, obviously because 10 years ago, you would have been right. I'd like to think I've matured a little bit since then. I do pretty well for myself IMO, and no I'm not putting my whole life story up on a forum to explain myself because I don't feel like there is any reason to do that. I have very little to hide, although I know that not everyone will be happy for someone's financial success if they hit it off big (I'm not saying I'm successful at this point in my life, but I think you and I both realize that I do dream pretty big).
When the stock market was crashing and then coming back up, I was actually contemplating about asking Lou for a private financial advice/discussion section because there is the off chance that I might actually have known some things that we could have all helped ourselves become better off. Obviously a forum like that you'd have to be granted access to in order to see it, but I didn't want anybody to end up taking some bad advice and flip the F out over it like I've seen people do over way more trivial things on this forum, especially as of late. So I realized it was one of those things that was a good idea in principle, but in practice could be a disaster.
Back on topic: It is what it is though, Adam. I can't have hard feelings when somebody makes wrongful accusations when evidence could certainly lead them to that conclusion, especially because there was a point in my life when what you said would have been spot on. Honestly, who the **** could buy or lease an Audi TT for their first car. I will never make shit up and lie to you guys or try to paint a picture that isn't true. Unless you're talking about my Folex n00bmariner (fake rolex submariner), then if somebody is too dumb to spot the differences its their fault. I also don't sell drugs, in case that is going through some people's heads. Don't lie, I know it has
haha yeah if I'm gettin tanked I just shut my computer off before I go out, I have enought trouble keeping some thoughts to myself on here when I'm sober
All said and done, this is a great community that I'm very happy to be a part of despite whatever speedbumps it hits along the way. I think we can all agree on that
I love this website!!!
