Well happened again.
Almost two weeks ago I got rear ended (again) at a stop light. If any of you know McMurray there is a Red light every 50 yards. I was sitting at the red light between Giant Eagle and Kmart and BAM. Some 19 year old kid had his cruise control set on 45 and wasn't paying attention and went right through me. He was driving a Ford Explorer. Cops showed up etc, ended up going to the hospital.
Luckily they are going to fix my Stang, just over $5,600 in damage. Ive missed work, been to the doctor and been out of a car. I think the worst is dealing with people on the phone. The list from the estimate on damaged parts is almost 4 pages long.
I guess sense I have limited tort, I cant get pain and suffering etc. Bull. I am going to give Egar Snyder a call sometime this week to see what I can do. I figure the speed limit through there is 40, he admitted to the Cop he was doing 45 with Cruise Control, and not paying attention.
But the rental car they gave me, a Chevy HHR, great on gas and actually not bad. Not my taste but its nice. Ill try to get some pictures up of the Stang.
Needless to say I have horrible luck!

...sorry ta hear this! I got rearendin in the work truck the other month by like a 16teen yr old not payin attention tailgateing and my g/f just got rearended for the second time in like a month er soo too.
The first one she had a dream about it happening and then it happend about a 100 yards from where she dreamp't it, that was in her old car. And then she had just bought my moms Chevy Malibu and had it like two weeks when she got hit the second time by 18wheeler semi, wtf!

How the heck does someone have the cruise on at all where there are a lot of red lights? Who even uses cruise unless they're on a highway where they can do a steady 55mph at least?? Jeez - the gene pool is getting crazy shallow...
This sounds similar to when I got rear-ended in my SHO. About 40mph. He never hit the brakes. Saw him coming the whole time. Talk about a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach when that is happening... At least they're fixing your car - mine wasn't so lucky.
Take care and get better soon. Notice every ache and pain and get it checked out. Necks and backs aren't made to take impacts like that. You can't be too careful.
And maybe opt for the full tort coverage next time. If / when it happens again you might not be so "lucky".

Yes, I saw it coming as well in the rear view. I tryed not to tense up but couldn't. I just can't afford my insurance to double with full tort.
I have NationWide, I've got to start shopping around. I am paying far to much for nothing. Never been in a car to car wreck that's my fault and no tickets.

Need parts to fix carnage from the weekend. Of course they was closed Monday for the holiday. So I CALL Tuesday morning with my order. First thing out of my mouth is that I need to know if the parts are coming from Ohio because i've been screwed by whatever I really need being shipped from Atlanta or Reno before ...
Go through my list and he says everything is in stock.

He tell me no, one of the parts needs to come from Atlanta. He tells me it's the shocks. I said, well that's too bad, but I can live with one more day on those as it will only take an hour to change and I can heve the rest of the car done.
Well I get my tracking e-mail this morning ... And Yep, it wasnt the shocks, it was the main freaking thing that I place the order for and that will hold me up from making any headway.
I "should" still be able to get back together for Saturday, just a little more pressure now. I usually split about 50/50 between Summit and Jegs, but now Jegs will be my first call.

True that. When I was stranded in little town Arkansas with a stripped out spark plug hole in my brand new ride, I was pretty pissed about it and thought "woe is me." Until I got to my hotel room and saw the disaster unfolding in Joplin, MO. That made me forget all about the "problems" I was having.
There could be MUCH worse things than waiting a few days on shipping.
