Yeah I am always up for cruising... even at $4.25/gallon. I went past Miracle Mile but saw two shitted up Cobalts and a diesel Ram, that was it.

Sounds good, I got the Stang back from paint this morning. Getting it inspected Monday and placing a missive order with AM late next week. Other than Seats, tuner, tuner/CIA and tint I'm ready for summer. Also on the list is Steeda 2x ball joints, new tail pipe tips and possibly going a bit lower.

    I'll pm you my number.

Worst part was I was rac... I mean driving next to a new mustang when it came off. Might have had a chance if I wasn't running without the supercharger.
Got another chance with a new 5.0 this afternoon. This time the belts stayed on and the G8 came out with the win . Not sure what was done to the 5.0, but it sounded like it had an exhaust at least and maybe lowered a bit. Kona blue with stickers on the hood that said 412HP or something. Had a dealer plate on it and looked like they were heading toward WWF since they got off at Heidelberg. Anyone on here?

Did the 5.0 know you were racing??? J/K - that's a nice kill. G8's really move and yours really must git-r-dun with the Maggie on there. Have you had her to the track?

Haha, yeah. He took off first. His passenger door got to my front fender then I started to pull on him. Got maybe a car or so on him before we had to shut down.

Had the G8 to the track once. Wasn't really a great trip. I think my best was 12.79@111. It's definitely got more in it. If you just leave it in drive it shifts around 5900-6000. I tried shifting it manually once and it went 114 with me hitting the limiter on the 1-2 shift. I think it's got low 12's at around 114-115 in it on street tires if I can time the manual shifts right. It's pretty hard to do though. I have to anticipate the 1-2 shift by a good 1000 RPM or so, lol.

The sad part ( for me ) is I bet your truck ( 180k ) and my truck (74k ) have probably consumed the same amount of gas over the course of their lives...

Well with the job secure the car bug has been hitting me and I've been test driving all sorts of things. A few dealerships had some 2012 v6 leftovers (with the ecoboost coming in 2015 I don't want to spend for a 5.0... sorry purists) that I was considering and one dealership decided to work a deal. After the test drive yesterday I was extremely impressed with the v6. It doesn't feel "cheap" at all and those all seasons even broke loose just a touch even with traction control on (those will get replaced with some Michelin Super Sports). The clutch feel reminds me a lot of the SRT with that "hump" to indicate positive engagement is about to happen.

They wanted a deposit but I still have a couple of other things to test drive (i've driven all sorts of things from just about every brand except the Camaro because... get this... there isn't enough demand for Camaros at my local dealership so they don't stock them!! LOL...). However, that is far and away the front runner so unless Honda gives me a deal I cant refuse on something with VTAAAAAAAAAK I sign on Tuesday.

Which probably wont happen so I'll post pics of the stang on tuesday :)

Good Luck... The V6's are ok cars... just not my taste/style. ford has really stepped up on the interiors and the amenities.

Eh, in an ideal world I would get a 5.0 or the GT500. I just want to get something sporty right now that isn't FWD. been there, done that, dont want another.

I was just on Ford's website looking at future vehicles and the Fiesta and Focus are supposed to have ST models (Focus summer 2012, Fiesta 2013).

The Focus ST actually looks pretty cool. I suppose they're going after the SRT4 type crowd with that offering. Too bad its FWD as I'm sure many a people will find out just what a PITA it is to launch. Being a highway king is one thing but I hated not being able to get a good shot out of the hole.

Id leave it, but that's me. Mine stands for the 99 GT I had when I joined the site and it just stuck. Holy shit can you imagine how often I'd have to change my name if I did it with every car I got.
