I can see both sides of the discussion. I built my '66 from the ground up, and SOMEDAY it will be exactly how I have dreamt it would be. Tough thing there is the dream keeps getting tweaked! I love that car and will never sell it unless I have to. I get a lot more satisfaction and enjoyment per mile driving it than, for example, the built 94 Cobra I recently sold. Don't get me wrong - the Cobra was a GREAT car and an absolute hoot to drive. But when you don't build the car yourself the bond isn't quite as strong. Hard to explain or understand unless you have been in both situations.

If you build up your car just understand it will take a LONG time to "finish" it, and enjoy the ride. People who buy their cars "done" almost always end up in better shape financially with their car and don't have to invest the time and $ to do the build.

Whatever way you go, have fun doing it!

^^ what he said. Thats one of the reasons i sold my ta. I seen what i spent on it and lnew what i had to spend to get it where i would want it. It also came into my frame of mind when buying the 02 gt i just bought. It had everything that i would do to it for a fun vehicle and not too nice where if its gna rain two days in the future i wouldnt drive it. I actually had it out past two days and it was nice not having to worry about anything.

I do plan a KB but jist cause i love the sound lol.

Again if i didnt have a play fund i would not even own a car. Im only 25 but i definetly can see the benefits of using the money more wisely instead of wasting it on a car cause all money in mods are basically almost a waste of money because you will never get it back out of it.

Another thing to consider is not so much having money to add power but to fix it when things start to break on new found power.

I've come to this realization even more strongly since I bought a house. I'd much rather have a decked out pad than a decked out car. Both would be great, but I am just thankful to be able to have both that are relatively nice condition.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

I hate the mentally that you have to have thousands and thousands invested in a car to be apprcated.

+1 a nice house is definitely awesome. I'm hoping to make an investment here in a few years myself!

I have a decent house, but when it comes down to it I get much more enjoyment spending money on my car than I do spending money on my house. Spending money on the house is obviously a much better financial decision though
