Mini-minor quasi-rant not worth starting its own thread, so here goes...
What is the thought process behind a dealer not trading/selling a car to another dealer? Just to be a dick?
When I was looking at my GT, my local dealer didn't have any available, but nearby dealers had a few to choose from. Chose a blue one that was optioned reasonably well but isn't going to break the bank. Put a deposit down on a Thursday night. Friday right at close my dealer calls and says the other dealer called and said that they supposedly have a deal in progress so they won't give it up. That's all fine and good except I go on the dealer's website today (10 days later give or take) and that blue one that I wanted is still there. On a lark i sent a message from the website asking for their "internet price" but got no reply yet.
Its a shame really because I bought a 2nd economy car at the same time. I was going to get the economy car from the other dealership as a way of saying "thanks for giving up the stang" but after this happened I got one that was on the lot at my local dealer even though its not 100% what I want.
I just cant figure out why a dealer would not want to get rid of a car that is basically a leftover since the 14's are out. Makes no sense.
Are you 100% sure it's still physically there? Dealers are notorious for not updating their websites. You'd think it would be a priority, but it ain't. For instance, my Da sells cars and there's a black Camaro SS on their "used car" list right now with a button attached for free carfax. if you click the carfax link, it says the car was sold at auction like 10 days ago and it's for sale at a dealer in another state. LOL!
Contrary to popular belief, the dealers don't make thousands of dollars on cars any more. I don't think a lot of them even want to risk the delivery charges or liability if some minor thing were to go wrong during the transaction. :2cents: :shouldershrug:
Although I'm not 100% sure its still there, I can say that my car disappeared from the other dealer's website (the dealer that sold it to my dealer) about 36 hours after I took delivery. I asked my dealer about this on the early part of last week and he explained how the new car inventory system works. Based on my understanding (though its possible) its unlikely they had a deal in progress 10 days ago, sold it, and it still appears now on their website as available.
Anything is possible I suppose and their lack of reply may indicate it is no longer for sale. However, last time I made an internet inquiry they responded to let me know it had been sold.
This Friday the weather is supposed to be good and there is a meetup to have Coffee and GTG not too far from this dealer. If the car is still listed on Friday I will take a swing by and see if its physically on the lot.
if this is the place to put mini, minor, quasi-rants, this is one I've had for years... and this is serious, it's not about Mustangs or Drag Racing or any of this stupid stuff most people talk about on here...
why is the packaging for cereal so f*cking bad? yes, cereal. this is 2013... the 21st century and my cereal is in a piece of glued wax paper and a flimsy cardboard box like the first day POST made some dried oats in 1935. wtf? cat food and dog food comes in plastic containers with re-sealable lids. yes, I know I can buy a perfect, fitted for my cupboard, Rubbermaid container to pour my cereal in, but I shouldn't have to purchase mods for my cereal. God the profit margin gotta be in the 100's of percents, can't you stretch a little and put it in a suitable container???
Haha I'm right there with you. Aldi and Bottom Dollar for the win..
What gets me is light bulbs. Something that fragile is still in a half open container, if you even want to call that card board concoction a container.

Just bought the UPR O/R X pipe. Things got delayed on the exhaust but I'm finally buying up parts. Bought MIL eliminators off a guy on MM too. Still torn on mufflers.

What mufflers are you thinking about again Barry?? Since your going with an O/R-X, don't get to carried away, it will be a lot louder.. Do you have long-tubes or stock mani's?

Bassani w/ UPR O/R-X -> I think this would be awesome on your car :)

I'm a big fan of Borla. They have a nice meaty sound and not raspy. Of course mine is a 4v with stock mid-pipe, but I think even with an O/R X it wouldnt be bad.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump
