Raw numbers are interesting, but almost always misleading. I'd be far more interested in seeing it as a percentage of vehicles produced. That in my eyes would be more informative.

You can be sure that GM didn't make 5x the cars as Ford in 2014. My guess is Ford production is at least 75% of GM over the last decade. That being said, 2014 was a particularly rough year for GM as far as recalls go. I'm sure the recall numbers for previous year's weren't nearly as bad.

edit - 2013 production - GM 9.6 million - Ford 6.1 million - 63% - so my number above was high by 12% or so.

I wish my cows would stay in the barn. They make the mud 10x worse. They are the only reason my tractors are out in the mud, hauling 2 2000lb round bales on the forks is fun when you're in the mud.
