Motortrend had an interesting article regarding this car. The engineers purchased 2 Ferrari 458's during the build of the car. This is the design they came up with. It looks great, I wonder why...

So do the Chinese. No, wait. That's steal shit. The copying part is questionable. Cross your fingers when they build their own AP1000. We should be far enough away when there's a plant meltdown.

Buddy of mine was one of the test engineers that spent considerable time in the 458 (and the other supercars they tested in that price range) during market bench testing and also considerable time in the new NSX....mostly track and some street miles....said the attn the 458 gets on the street actually gets annoying....so annoying after a week of road trips in it after he got back to the plant he and the other egr he was with went out to lunch...upon entering the parking lot they both looked at each other with keys in their hands for a 458 and a Honda Fit.......they drove the Fit to lunch.

    True story bro.......

But anyway....he has the top license for track testing within Honda so his job is generally pretty freakin cool.

Anyone care to guess how much the steering wheel for a 458 costs?

My buddy said during testing they welded robot type arms to theirs and then afterward had to purchase a new wheel.

I was rather surprised at the amount.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

Maybe it's like an iPhone battery; you just have to buy a whole new car.

I would think that 3k is about right for a wheel with some switches....but Ferrari says $20,000 for a new wheel.

I thought the corvette tax was bad.

That's not bad. Maybe a Pontiac purist would be upset over the use of the front clip. The honeycomb wheels and 1985 white letter tires need changed.
