If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump
Title transfers went from $22 to over $50. Truck registration went from $81 to around $150 for mine. Crazy money.

These increases are part of Act 89, fall of 2013, when Corbett was governor. The increases are to fund public transportation, and roads/bridges/infrastructure.
this
and this
It's either these new charges or a higher gas tax or higher income taxes. The roads and bridges in this state are some of the oldest in the nation... Industrial Revolution started right here in SWPA... we have to pay for it somehow. Everybody wants a nice, smooth road to ride on, but nobody wants to pay for it and/or sit in construction.
What you should be more concerned about is like every other bill there are supposed to be firewalls put in place so that no other gov't agencies can steal this money. ACT 89 was/is supposed to be for road and bridge construction like stated above (actually public transportation wasn't part of THIS bill), but now the PSP is getting their shithooks in it (thank theDak next time he's bragging about OT --- LOL). And, like just mentioned, Philly will be buying more busses with it to take all the welfare bum heroin addicts to the methadone clinic.

I'm sure our roads will be like driving on glass now......
They went on an audit spree too, ask how I know. Bullshit.
I hear theres a sweet new breathing tax on the table to make into law. Should really help PA get their budget in order. How about this, instead of constantly taxes the citizens of PA more and more to cover budget shortfalls, look inward to how the MILLIONs of dollars they already receive are spent. They like to play this game of "well we have to raise this or add this new tax to cover xxxx" acting like they are working on a volunteer basis now and have no moneys coming in to work with. **** them and their careers of stealing our money and wasting it.
Nascar has been the same since the 80s. They haven't ran actual steel from a production car for a long time. Most stock car series from dirt to asphalt are this way. They have to cap what the teams do because A. the racing would suck. Drivers would win by 10 laps. Low budget teams couldn't compete. You may say so what but when sponsors start pulling money from the series and you have 4 teams left racing every week it would implode on itself. There's a reason these other series are struggling. It was dull for a year or so but NASCAR is getting it right with this new low downforce package and Goodyear bringing tires with high falloff. Plus I think the last 8-9 races this year have had 1st time season winners so the same rednecks don't win every week. If you watched Sonoma this week and think it was boring you're never gonna like stock car racing lol.
People are getting fed up.
Antique plates have been $75 for 20+ years. Not sure if vanity plates were the same or not.

I am normally not pro-tax, but I sell asphalt for a living, so I'm somewhat familiar with the funding. Some days I struggle with it because it's like corporate welfare... if we're selling to a PA DOT job... I/we/you pay taxes, PA DOT gets funded, PA DOT lets jobs out for bid. Contractor ABC gets job, pays workers (who pay more income taxes), buys equipment (that they pay sales tax on), buys materials (ie: stone and asphalt that they pay income taxes on), etc. The peeps who sold the equipment and materials pay income taxes on their salaries, too. It's a vicious cycle... so PA DOT keeps getting funded and letting more jobs to infinity.
Now, you wanna bitch about the PA budget? No offense if somebody (or their significant other) is a current teacher, but you didn't create this situation... why on God's green earth are we still paying all of these bazillion ex-school teachers full state-funded pensions? Every body else in the free market system has been bounced to a 401K at some point in the last 15 years. NO profitable businesses are paying into an old-school full pension for anybody anymore... Retired teachers are getting full pensions PLUS social security. Current teachers pay NADA into a retirement fund... and it continues and they bitch about pay and go on strike from time to time. WTF?
