We go to Martinsville and Richmond every year. Gonna talk the wife into Watkins Glenn next year I think. Charlotte is our favorite track. All the Nascar stuff to do there and great racing. Not to mention they run the world of outlaws sprint cars there on the dirt track Friday evening.
I didn't say that. System needs fixed. What I'm saying is your vanity plate up-charge is supposed to go to ACT 89 (which is for roads/bridges/infrastructure), but your Governor is probably going to steal that money and pay pensions with it. So, I'll assume you're cool with your up-charge now that you know it pays those "state-funded" pensions you're worried about ???

Was at a 7-Eleven tonight and they had Hillary Presidential playing cards for sale at the counter. I told the clerk "I hope those aren't nudie cards!" He was still laughing when I left the store.

so, no google, no lie... I'm thinking the Beretta had the same 2.8L V6 that was in the Z24? 130hp and 160tq ? doesn't sound like much, but that car was made out of tinfoil... maybe 2,800 lbs? it was no joke. bawahahahahahaha especially the teal one with pink graphics.

401k doesn't have to be a crapshoot. Almost all 401k's have money market and bond options to invest in vs. higher risk stocks, they just don't typically have as much return.
Having a known pension amount at retirement is nice, but there can be issues with funding them sometimes. It's hard to tell what a company's financial situation will be far in the future (whether it's economy based, poor management, etc.). The money for government pensions relies on bringing in tax money. If pensions can't be covered, some type of tax increase (or budget changes) will have to be made, or go further in debt.
Whether pensions are appropriate for teachers, government workers, etc., is a whole other issue and kind of depends on total compensation (including benefits, which do have monetary value in addition to just salary). Might have low salaries but a good pension, so it's essentially an end-loaded compensation plan.
That's why 401k's are becoming more common. You really need to ride out the market fluctuations with a 401k. I'd be more than happy to opt out of Social Security in lieu of a 401k type of account. It's more or less a pension that isn't self-sustaining.
That's my $0.02!

Not all pensions are funded by companies...my pension is funded by my trade and its workers. Same thing with my annuity...work so many hours ans money is put into it
Im also union so im pro-pension
Never been a fan of a 401k...to easy to get screwed imho especially now with what looks like clinton possibly becoming the first **** in office
With proper planning you can't go wrong over the long term in a 401k.

I don't like or trust Clinton either, but I see no need in crass name calling.
