    Fun fact from a computer security conference I attended over the weekend: China puts 15% of their GDP towards "acquiring" intellectual property from other countries. That's roughly 1.8 trillion dollars dedicated to stealing data/patents/designs/etc.
    When a Chinese resident returns from the US with stolen information (such as a professor from VA Tech - actual story) they treat them like kings/queens. Tons of money thrown at them, a parade, and a building named after them. That lady eventually set foot back in the US and is now in prison.
