can I paint my pulleys with a coat of high temp paint? will this cause any problems? is it better to powder coat them?
-thanks Mike

ya except for the crank pulley
you could always go get underdrive pulleys
I had underdrive pulleys, but the alt and water pump pulley werent running fast enough to charge the battery and pump the water??? no one could tell why it was doing that
do you still have smog and ac? ON all my 5.0s i had no problems
ya I do, I wasnt having a problem with them, until I had my car up at college, dont know if it was from me just making short trips up n back from practice or what, but the garage told me my amps were down a lot from where they should have been, dont know if its the wrong pulley setup for my car, theyre just the cheap summit racing 5.0 underdrive set
wat will that do exactly??
alright, I'll def look into that, thanks
deff, no way I'd ever get rid of the ac
getting rid of the smog pump gets rid of a littel parasitic drag and frees up a little hp, If you paint the pulleys the belt is gonna wear off the paint and could cause the belt to slip in some cases, i would say the problem with the summit pulleys may have been becuase they are just cheap summit pulleys, or you somehow got the wrong size alt pulley, you can retain the stock size alt pulley or go to a smaller one if you think you need to spin it faster, remember... the smaller the acc. pulleys the faster they will spin, and the bigger they are the slower they will spin, just think about a 10 speed bike gear set up, that will help you keep it in you mind, the drive pulley has an opposite effect as the driven or acc. pulleys...

I'm thinkin about gettin a set of bbk underdrive pulleys, n a smog delete n hopefully that will work
I used caliper paint on my pulley bolts and it seems to be holding up so I would think it would work on the pullies. I wouldnt paint where the belt runs but I would do the faces of them.
