    fox guys come on in

If everything goes good, i should be trading my camaro for a fox, and i am looking into some suspension stuff.. I wanna do 17s with a nice ride height and run a 275 in the rear. I wanna set it up for street with a lil bit of strip. What are you guys running with suspension/ wheel set up. If you could include the mods you have done suspension wise and wheel set up with a pic would be great.

    Thanks

My tips are to stay away from ueythane bushings in the control arms, add subframe connectors first, and get control arms that allow you to adjust your instant center. I like coil-over setups but they can cause some tire clearance issues.

Edit- you also get what you pay for when it comes to spherical bushings. The teflon liners break easily on the cheap ones. Qa1 make some of the best.

I run 275"s on the rear of mine but I also have SN axles and cobra brakes. You gonna do it 5-lug? I also have no rubbing issues at all. Quarter is slightly rolled.

When you do then, you outta go with SN axles and do Cobra brakes in the rear. It will give ample room and and clearance.

Scott, my Red car you saw has 275/40/17's in the rear with all 100% rear suspension. For ride height, you can't beat the Motorsport C Springs.

    Scott:
First, get some good bracing---full-length subframes, 4-pt. K-brace, and a STB (I have one FS here ). For springs, the Motorsports Cs or Eibach Pros are nice, but I really liked the set of H&Rs from Maximum Motorsprts I had---kept close to stock GT rates and lowered about 1". For shocks/struts, if its just to handle nice on the street and do well at the track, I'd go with the Tokico Drag adj. set-up. Adjusts 1-5 settings, with 5 stiffer than stock to 1 between a 90/10 and 70/30 drag strut---I really liked mine.
I prefer 17x8s on the front after having 9s all around, but a 245/45-255/40 in the front and the 275-285/40 in the back looks great.
If you plan on doing much drag, I'd just do 5-lug GT discs in the back. Cobra brakes are amazing on the Fox but make 15" drag wheels more complicated, trust me I know .
Anyway, good to hear you're leaving the dark side
Here's a pic with 17" Cobra Rs (315 Nittos in the rear too):

i have sn95 axles and 96+ modular front spindles. never had a rubbing issue up front. in the rear, if i have people in the back i get rub on one tire occasionally. i think a little fender lip rolling would make it perfect. i have 8in 01 cobra wheels the whole way around. 245/45 up front and i think a 255/40 in the rear but id have to check. 2001 brakes

'99 and '01 Cobra and '03-04 GT premium wheels, not sure if too many '99s got the polished ones, my '01 definitely had them.
