    what clutch?

    hey I got my t5 swap and not im deciding on what clutch to buy. I can use any 10.5 or 11 inch clutch (that will fit a t5 5.0/3.8)since on going to buy a spec flywheel that is drilled for both sizes. Can anybody give me any input or oppinions on what they like/dislike.

    also what is better the Steeda Quick Release Clutch Quadrant or Steeda Double Hook Quadrant. Im not sure what to use.

    not sure on the quadrant. but i like spec clutches and centerforce, centerforce has a super stock pedal feel and grip well for 500hp and under cars, the specs have a littel stiffer feel, but grip very well.. I hate ram clutches, i have had to many problems with them..

    i just put my zoom stage 3 clutch in a couple months ago, wasent too expensive and i like it so far, havent had any problems with it and it grips very well.

    I know the spec are crazy stiff I heard from numerous of people. I dont think im going to get a spec. either Ram or centerforce.

    it's a little stiffer than stock maybe a little more lkke the king cobra setup but nothing like the spec... tho the specs i've driven weren't in mustangs but still... and the centrifugal assist holds my measly however many horses just fine

    If you get the spec3 plus they are not as stiff as the regular spec but they are more money and are rated at holding more hp's.

    the c/f dual friction would be a better choice for driving the car on the street. they have a soft pedal but once the rpms are up the weights do there job.

    as for the quadrants, put in the quick release and an adjustable cable. the double hook quadrants are for use with non-adjustable cables

    I have a Ram Powergrip and I like it so far, I've only had it in for about 1500 miles though, so I can't speak for the longevity or durability of it

    does it chatter pulling out normal or racing? I was thinking of getting the hdx because I heard the powergrip is really common to chattering. I didn't know if the hdx would hold up if I went to the track or not launching high.

    Ram powergrip HD here, truely awesome clutch. With a steel flywheel I experience little to no chatter. I would consider the Powergrip or HDX setup. We have had more problems with Centerforce than all other companys combined over the years.

    I have a spec3+ in my car and i'm very happy with it... no chatter at all, and its obviously got plenty of holding power.... It is reasonably stiff in comparison to other clutches i've felt, but my car also has a hydraulic clutch, so i don't know that there's a comparison there......

    I've heard nothing but good thigns about the RAM HD .. i think it'd be a safe bet to go with one of those

    i think im going to go with hdx since it holds 450hp and its $180 and the powergrip is $300 and holds 500hp. the hdx is made for a 93 cobra/gt and im putting it in a v6 so I think I would be better off with the hdx. Im thinking the powergrip will be to much for me.

    In your case, I would go with the HDX, it really wouldn't be worth the extra money unless you're planning on making 500hp to get the powergrip, IMO

    ya i agree. i was told if I get "too much" clutch it can hurt the tranny. I say in a couple years ill be at 550hp but I dont want to hurt the tranny now so im gonig hdx
