    landlord/lawyer help needed

I need a little help from someone that knows the best way (legally) to handle this. I have been living at the same location for about 8 years now. When I first moved in everything was great. The yards of open lots were well taken care of, trees were trimmed, roads were plowed ect. Well 2 years ago things started to go downhill. I come to find out that the owner’s son is now in charge of upkeep or lack of. I guess this is why things are going to hell. I know that I am responsible for cutting my lawn and such but isn’t the owner responsible for the trees? I have asked him nicely to trim the dead branches because they keep falling and hitting my truck but he has not done anything. I have even told him that I would have someone come cut the whole thing down and got "You can’t do that, they are community trees". So I asked about his property insurance and was told "Call your car insurance company." It’s a little bent with minor paint damage but still...this is my f'n truck and I take great care of it so why the hell can this guy get away with this?

So my question is how do I take care of this "legally"? My truck has been hit twice by dead branches. The only reason I park where I do is because I spent money to have a gravel park way installed so I was off the street for added protection. BTW I would still be under the trees on the street so it didn’t help here.

I guess if I can’t figure something out I will just find a house and start being broke like everyone else. lol

pretty sure he is responsible to pay for damages since somebody is responsible to upkeep with them but im not sure if it goes thru their homeowners insurance or if they have to pay themselves

but i think he is responsible since you told him about the problem and he did nothing

Speaking from past issues with my borough, it is the "home owner's" responsibility for the tree as long as the tree is on the property.

But I rent the lot I don’t own it and this makes it a bit tricky. Also... The tree is used as a lot divider so that confuses me even more. I need to dig up my contract/paperwork and read it.

I think I am going to get my neighbors all fired up and we will all go get this guy with ball bats in hand.

ok, this is from an actual lawyer....You can thank me later. lol.

Take a look at your property lease. If it's under contract that the property, (which would include the trees, assuming they are on the property) upkeep is the responsibility of the landlord then call the magistrate and see if they can help you out.
