automatic cable???

theres a cable that comes off the shifter and goes under the steerwheel almost looks like it goes into the steering column. I was wondering what that is and can I get rid of it since im going manual?? it looks just like a short clutch cable. any ideas?

shifter lockout. shouldn't be able to put it in gear until you turn the key? when you do the swap just delete it...

How do u disconnect it from the steering wheel?
