    clutch creek

Well I had my car out tonight. T5 swap went fine except for a few things. I have some rattles which will be a easy fix. Anyways everytime I push the clutch in it make a terrible loud sound. Like a rusty spring. That's why I thought it was the pedal assembly. But I sound like it under the car. I have no idea what it is. Anybody else have a idea?

since i can't really hear it, i'm not sure but i had an annoying "creek" like you describe in an old car and i traced it down to a plastic bushing in the pivot point of the clutch pedal. was sorts smashed, shredded and hangin' halfway out.

im hopeing it the pedals. I really dont want to take the tranny back out. Im thinking it might be since the pedals came out of a flooded cobra. I sanded the rust off and painted. now Im thinking that was a bad Idea.....

97laser let me know what you find out i think I may have a similar noise when I press my clutch in, it does sound like a bad spring and then a knock, dont know if you have the same knock or pop noise at the end of it, but might be the same issue

yes i installed the pilot bearing. Im so cunfused on what this is. and very worried. It doesnt sound good at all. It seems to make it really hard to push the clutch in.

maybe bad cable? it seems to release fine but when I push it in it makes the noise.

Is it really hard to push in? Is your cable new or used? Was it easy to push before you started the car up for the first time?

Its outta lous cobra. It wasn't to bad before I started it. It seemed to move freely before I put it in. I greased the pedal asembly seems to do it still. I have a firewall adjuster also and can't seem to fix it. I'm not 100% sure how to set up the adjuster.
