OK, although it would be nice to drop this much weight I actually pulled the interior as I'm having a legal chrome-moly roll bar installed by Henry at http://www.hfrfab.com
The car goes in this weekend! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'll miss my 'ol chrome car bar that I've had in the car for years, but with the turbo going on soon its time to pull the trigger and get this done.

I had it sprayed when I had my old body kit done so that it matched perfectly. The place that did it is out of business.
A lot of time and patience. I did it myself with a touch-up paint bottle and a brush. I just took my time and it came out like that. It needs redone as I did it about 7yrs ago and the paint is cracked a little bit. It doesn't look bad, but it could use a re-do. If I got any paint onto places that I didn't want it, it came off fairly easy by picking at it and "flicking" it off.Originally Posted by sk8trkid

I just back from dropping the car off and I feel even better now having met him and discussing what I wanted and what he could do. A couple places are going to be tight, but he seemed confident he could attain all of the attributes that i wanted, and there were a number of them. LOL! He said it should be done the week of October 5th. It'd be done sooner but I want the Chris Alston Chassis Work's clevis type swing outs which he has to order... man are they expensive, but they'll look so good in there that I had to have them.

take those speakers and seat belts out 2!!!
i was also wondering that it looks amazing. how did you get the mustang writing painted so perfectly?where'd you get the interior painted?
The rear seat belts may have to come out or be relocated as the plate for the rear bars doesn't have enough room to fit in there with the seat belt mechanism since they both want to occupy the same space. Henry is going to try to make it work though. As for the speakers, they are staying. I may rip the mach460 enclosure out and put an 8" sub in its place, but that is a ways down the road.
cmon tell us where you got your interior painted canary :)

BTW- I've had my interior painted since '98, and it still looks as good today as it did when I had it shot. A lot of people have questioned me about that and I figured I'd add it here.
yeah i wish i could have went along today .

PEOPLE HAVE MORE FUN THAN ANYONE
looks good paul.. How many points you getting?
It'll be a 6pt with kicker bars running from the main hoop up to the front part of the swing outs (kind of like an internal subframe connector), and there will be a cross brace that runs along the length of the floor from driver side to passenger side connecting the two points of the bottom of the main hoop together. The main hoop bar will be raked back so that from the side of the car the angle of the main hoop will mirror the angle of the intersection between the front and rear windows. (you may not see the bar when the top is up if that makes sense) Too many people makes the main hoop straight from the floor up and its angle, and the angle of the window intersection don't match. My old roll bar was like this and it always bothered me. The rear bars will go right over the back seat and then down to the rear shock tower area.

sounds like a nice set up... ONe thing my buddy regretted was not getting swing outs when me and him put it in his camaro
Thanks! Here's the clevis's I'm getting for the swing outs. They are stupid expensive, but they look SO much better than the usual swing outs found on most bars.
