PCV - How to fix excess oil in seperator

On my 10.5:1 NA 347, my PCV valve was installed into my TFR R Series lower intake and I ran a standard air compressor seperator between the pcv and the upper intake manifold vacuum source. The oil bottle would need emptied with every tank of gas. I do have a closed pcv system since I ran a 3/8 fuel line between the driver's vc oil fill tube's vacuum fitting and the cold air pipe. I did not install a baffle on the underside of the R Series lower underneath the pcv location. To get around pulling the lower intake to solve the problem, I purchased FRPP baffled tall valve covers. I installed the pcv into the rear passenger vc and capped the pcv valve in the lower intake. I then installed the oil seperator between the upper intake manifold vacuum source and the pcv in the valve cover. This resulted in the oil bottle needing emptied every 1.5 tanks of gas. The problem got a little better, but still way too much oil and too much hastle. The oil in the bottle is laden with vapors and is coal black in color. Is it possible that my 347 is creating more crankcase pressure due to the faster piston speeds that occur with a 347? Do you think that re-activating the stock-location pcv in the lower intake may relieve more pressure and actually cause less oil to be drawn up into the intake? The thought here is that 2 pcv's will work 1/2 as hard and will draw less oil and vapor. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you running a breather also? I know alot of supercharged guys run an open element breather along with the pcv valve.

Also, are the valve covers baffled?

Both VCs are baffled - they are the tall FRPP covers. Currently, I don't run an open breather. I have read that running an open breather can cause the engine to lean out since unmetered air is drawn in thru the breather.

So how does this air get into the cylinders and cause a lean condition if it's pulled thru the valve covers?

It's pulled through the breather, through the PCV valve, and right into your intake.

I would try a breather, there was alot of debate on this topic with the 03 / 04 Cobra guys but no one could come up with any concrete evidence that the breather leaned the car out any.

    For whats its worth...

I run a stock PCV valve and a breather on my 347...I do NOT run a seperator or a vaccumme pump and I have seen up to 20#of boost
