here we go again lol, jk look up some of my previous threads on engine combos, we talked about the very same ? ur asking. sc cheaper /less power potential, turbo more expensive /insane power potential

    my opinion below:

    s/c (especially roots or twin-screw) = nice low-end / fun on street

turbo = insane effecient powa (like stated above) but mostly top-end / best for racing

either one = built bottom-end eventually.

4.6 GT crank is steel, but OK to ~450rwhp. the rods and pistons are suspect under stock power levels.

I'd call Tim Rodeheaver. He probably has all the hook-ups on the cheapest and best combination of parts for the 4.6.

edit: don't build the bottom first!!! put 20psi of boost on that stock bottom so we can all see some carnage pics.

    Fast. Cheap. Reliable. Pick two

What kind of power level are you looking to get out of your car? Might be easier/cheaper to trade in on a bolt on terminator than it is to do all of that stuff to your car. Plus you'll get some resale value out of it that way too.

After you go 11.49 or faster you start entering a world of safety parts also, not just go fast goodies, a high 10 sec car that is drivable, reliable, and will pass tech will cost you some serious $$$. Other than that I would go with a low boost entry level turbo kit like hellion or hp, you should easily go 11's and still enjoy driving the car.

This is what I'm not looking forward to. I know my car has those times in it easy if I could launch it well, but I'll just stop running it at the track before I put a cage in it. Personally, I think a cage has no place in a car if its legitimately just a street car you just take to the track to get your speed fix, I think cages ruin cars - especially 6 point ones where you have to climb over them to get in/out. 11.49 is pretty easy to do on a budget these days too :(

thats why you get swing out bars bo. lol

but i have seen many 10 sec cars up prp that dont have cages in them, so until they say something you should be fine, if you want to risk your safety that is.

sounds like you wanna a h/c/i ls1. lol

i doubt you will get that without spending atleast 15k.

But for what you use your car for, i would beef up the bottom end alil bit and put a KB on it. That would be a fun car to drive on the street and at the same time be a good low et car up the track.

its still not built for fun if you have a cage in it. Nothing if fun about wrecking either.

I think you and I might have entirely different ideas of what types of cars we like, Scott. Just a thought

no i think what you took what i said wrong. I meant that if you run faster than the 11.49 and dont have a cage, i highly doubt that will say something to you there in fact you could still run your car up there if you feel comfortable doing so

turbo or supercharger... they both make as much power as you let them. obviously a turbo kit will cost you more, but I wouldn't pick a turbo over a supercharger because you "think" turbos are faster lol

If you're planning on running a lot at the track go turbo, if you want a street terror...go SC. IMO

i agree bo. since your car is almost factory (not crazy built up) i dont think they will say anything to you. make it that fast so you can run it once and if they say somthing o well. at least you have a 10 sec timeslip!!
