how does the new boss block compare to a dart sportsman block. anyone know the hp amount the boss can handle.
also what would I need to do to make the boss block 347 stroker compatible because of the short cylinders??

I've heard that the Boss block is good to about 1500hp, but I've already read about some people taking it past 2000hp. I personally have a Boss block and am VERY impressed with how it looks. Looks super strong. Ask Tim from Rodeheaver's his opinion, he has dealt with Dart blocks before and has my block in his shop now.(I'm his little brother, lol)

I have a dart sportsman block, the reason I chose it was because I wanted to use hydraulic lifters and didn't want to spend the >$400 on the linked retro lifters that would have been needed in the dart iron eagle block. The sportsman block is already setup to accept the stock spyder bar and lifters and it can handle over 1000hp without a problem. My machining cost were minimal as the block needed next to nothing. I got a dart and would do so again without a question. If you search on hardcore50.com you will find plenty of reading on both the boss and dart, and their true end cost and abilities.

The BOSS block also accepts the stockspyder bar assembly and lifters. It is also already clearanced for strokers. It is not, however, designed to be used with a stroke greater than 3.4 inches
