G/F just got a Tiburon

Driving to Cleveland to pick it up on Saturday. its a GT but isn't a sport package, those 16 wheels have to go........just found out its the same bolt pattern as the mustang

any opinions on the car????

ive only been in one once, i really dont remember a whole lot about it, i do remember the gauges being red..... it seemed to run good. i tried to talk her into a 6 spd..it was a no go

I think they're nice looking cars, never got to drive or ride in one so I can't say anything on the quality of the car.

well ill tell all you guys how it drives and runs saturday night! I think its a nice car for her, we were also looking at 01-02 cougars but i was looking for a lower mileage XR and everything close was totally overpriced. once a dealer gets ahold of them they think they are worth 12k. soo anyways found this tib, it was one of the color she wanted, auto, and i demanded a GT

Here goes some pics of hers. It had 18's on it that i gave her at one time but she didnt like them. Car has really comfy interior and a decent exhaust pitch for a V6

nice buy , my buddys wife has an 02 cougar and they have had nuthin but problems with it. they are looking to trade it in on something better for her.

Those cars always looked like you get a lot for your money. Aren't the v6 ones something like 220hp?

nah i wish.lol. There like 180 but its a really smooth motor. Def a good car for the money and a really surprisingly firm suspension.

OK well as a follow up..........
we went and looked at the car, it TOTALLY not as described
the drivers side door had a ton of rust on the bottom and quarter was bubbling
it appeared to me to be a repaint on that side
so we left it in cleveland :flipoff:


but on the up side of things we found another car....not quite a Tib....

those cougars are nice lookin but from my experience very problamtic.good luck.that partcular one is nice.

yes i had a 99, it had its issues. but i think most were worked out by 02
the sunroofs are notorious for breaking due to a plastic track and components that was changed to aluminum in 02, i had to change the roof in my 99 as it kept bouncing up and down. alternators had a prob in 99-00 but had a revision in 01 and the fuel pump was also revised. the one thing that goes bad all on of them is the IMRC motor that opens the secondaries in the intake..........so thats one thing im looking foward to! :)

My GF Has a 07 Tiburon GT with V6. Good pickup, it runs good, but gets terrible gas mileage.

She's got about 33k miles on it and not one issue yet.
