    Hooiser Drag Radials

    Has anyone tried these?

I wonder if they hook as well as the MT ET Streets. I am interested in these because the tire height is 1" shorter than the ET Streets. I had the ET Streets and i felt they were too tall thus KILLING my gear ratio. These 4.6's need as much help as they can get!

Yes Larry does have them. They have been good tires for the track but they do not last long. He got a few hundred miles on them and a few trips at the track and thats it. I'm sure he would recommend having regular street tires for the street and using the Hoosiers for the track only.

Also Rob runs them on his 86. They hook really well for him, but as was said, life is rather short. also, the lines wear off them REALLY quick. Not that it affects performance, but it gets you attention from the tech guys. It was a running joke that every time Rob came to run Trophy (need dot tire) someone would rat him out for running slicks.

You have an auto or a stick? That would affect my tire choice as much as anything.

My car is a stick. I just want something that hooks better than Nittos or MT drag radials. I have a Spec 2 clutch in my car and you cannot feather it out of the hole. MT ET Streets do the trick but they are too tall. The Hoosiers are 1" shorter. I would rather try shorter tires than switching gears again. I only plan to run a handful of runs next year plus I have street tires so these may be the ticket for me.

I have the 335/35/17's. They hook great at the track. Don't run them on the street though. They lasted 1 season, just bought another set.

I think Jivepepper used them as well at the track. I think he said the same thing about them being like bubble gum, and they wear quickly.

Do they hook well enough to dump the clutch or do you need to feather the clutch when launching? I have about 399 rwhp.

Your best bet is to heat them up a little bit.

Absolutely, that goes without saying. I am asking about the bite after they are heated up.

    Sean,

I run those on my red car. I personally find them to be inconsistent (and I even have an auto) and I wish there was more sidewall.

I think you'd be better off with the taller tires IMO.

My best 60' with those is a 1.72 but i'm sure my car has much more wt over the front than yours, so maybe your results will be better.

    Hey John,
I still am thinking about this is due to the shorter tires. I know they probably won't hook as well as ET streets but better than nittos. I only plan on running a couple of times a next year for TNT. Maybe I will try them. If I don't like them, you will see them in the classified.

Would you say the ET streets hook better than the Hoosiers?
