    Registration to PA from OH?

If you purchase a car in Ohio and you live in PA, how hard is it to get it titled in PA? Anyone ever go thru this? Someone told me the inspection in PA is extremely strict. Buddy of mine just bought a car here (an 1988 Olds) and it passed e-check and was registered here in Ohio but he lives in PA.

Email me at Fordstangfan@yahoo.com if you guys have any advice. I cant get on the website at work but can get my email. Thanks guys/gals.

The last car I bought in Ohio............

We tried to go to a DMV office (whatever they callit out there) and the line was a mile long. We went to the guys bank, he signed the title and they gave me a notorized form.

I used his plate to drive it home (I know this guy)

Stopped at the PA notary on the way home, transfered my plate on to it right there, went the next day for standard PA inspection and emissions.

FedEx'ed his plate back, done deal, no harder than buying one in PA really, the only thing it seems there are always lines at the DMV there if you need to transfer it in ohio and get a temporary transit plate.

I just bought a 2003 cobra in july and it came from ohio. All i did was go out and pay the asking price for the car, didnt pay any sells tax at all. they gave me a 10 day temp tag. when i got back to pa i got my insurance cars and went to the local notary, once there with title in had i payed PA sales tax on the amount for the car. after that i had ten days to get it inspected and emissioned for PA. I aint sure if its always that easy but it went really smooth for me.

Just did this last month. It is exactly as wickedsnake03 says. Make sure that you do not pay your sales tax when you buy it as it is not required. It's not a hassle at all.

I'm not sure how you would go about purchasing a car in Ohio and leaving it registered there when you live in PA.

I hear from some people that they are very strict on the inspection. Anyone know what they check for? Obviously its no modded stang or anything...i have to fix the PS and get some fresh tires for my buddy. As far as i know all lights, signals, wipers, and horn work. Small exhaust leak but not terrible.
