Gun people...I need a new scope

thought maybe some of you gun nuts could point me in the direction of a new scope. i need a new scope for my 30.06. right now i cannot see a full view of the scope without getting 1" from the scope and getting myself laid open. I have not killed a deer with it in 7-8 years and not even shot it in 5-6 years.

yes my eyes have gotten worse and it was not the best scope money could buy at the time. this thing is 15 years old as i bought the gun and scope new when i was 12.

i looked at a leopold at cabela's with a lot of eye relief. appx 6". but it was a single power and only 2.5x with a small lense. i would like to find something with an adjustable magnification and larger lense with a good bit of eye relief. if it is only a single optic then 3-4x is preferred.

i do not need the best money can buy as it will be hunted with and typically in the woods not an open field. but i need something that fits my needs. the leopold i looked at was $200.

anyone know of something like this? or a better place to look? Cabela's was too busy to even get close to the scopes/guns. we plan to take some of our .06's and muzzeloaders, and 30-30 to the range and site them in the 2nd or 9th.

Check out Tasco's world class. They make a nice scope and it has a nice warranty. Power range get something like a 3x9x40 or 4x12x40

Look at Nikon, Simmons or Barska. All make decent scopes for what you're looking to do and will be in the $200 price range.

    x2

Nikon is my personal favorite however I have a Simmons Aetec that is damn close in clarity. Paid $99 for the Aetec a few years ago....had the same problem with the eye relief thus the purchase of the Simmons Aetec for the extended eye relief.

Nikon! I live beside a rifle range and hang out there at times, When I compare other scopes the Nikon always shines for clarity...Make sure you look downrandge too. Alot of them look good @ 50 yards but 100, 150 and so on not so clear. You can buy the Pro Staff 3X9X40 for $199.99 or less

i have a simmons white tail 3-9x32 on my .22 and i like it a lot

i have a swift premier 4-12x40 on my .270 wsm and love it.

the guy i buy guns from has different brands and i walked outside with each scope and the swift had the best clearity for the range i was looking for. just my 2 cents
