supercharger info needed

few questions ... about how many miles is your average charger good for .. if everything is hooked properly how long will an engine hold up to one pushine 8-10 lbs of boost .. what should i look for when inspecting one ... and any other info you guys can offer would be greatly appercheiated .. thanks

also if the engine has had the charger on it for 50k will the engine still run ok with out it if i choose to take it off .. these might be stupid questions but i never had a supercharger before

well, vortech is now putting a 30k warrenty on them, and i have seen charger destroyed in 500 miles by idiots, and i have seen em on for 50k miles with no problems, it mostly depends on if you are gonna be racing with it on or if you are just gonna mainly cruise with it on... When inspecting one, i always look for oil around the shafts and the case gasket, check for any play in the shaft and nicks and even bends in the impeller... also check for anything obvious like big nicks or any damage to the case, and be sure the pulley moves freely and moves the impeller.. and yes i think if the engine ran fine with the charger it would be ok with out the charger...
