Racism is not likeing and bashing/hateing anyone other then who you like. I.E You like the steelers and bash (example) Colts. That is racism. Anytime you display or say anything about dislikeing something or someone is a form of racist act.
Also, If a person is raised in a religion(Also just an example) of where he/she is taught one race is better then the other. Thats what they were taught.(Although it maybe wrong) then you yourself are being racist to that person because of what they were taught. Granted this seems like alot of bullshit but, its true examples. So, yes everyone is racist in one way or another is.......My Final answer.
Ya, I have been called an asshole before lol.

Though the term racism usually denotes race-based prejudice, violence, discrimination, or oppression, the term can also have varying and hotly contested definitions. Racialism is a related term, sometimes intended to avoid these negative meanings. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, racism is a belief or ideology that all members of each racial group possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially to distinguish it as being either superior or inferior to another racial group or racial groups. The Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines racism as a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular racial group, and that it is also the prejudice based on such a belief. The Macquarie Dictionary defines racism as: "the belief that human races have distinctive characteristics which determine their respective cultures, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule or dominate others."

I was not aware colts and steelers were races. humph

Maybe you should of looked up the meaning of racism before you told me to.

First off I never told you to. Hmmph. Second they are groups or teams. Andyou or i or anyone else can call one or the other superior to the other. It all boils down to how one percieves it. Its a form of prejudice. I wear rebel flags.Does it mean I am racist? If it means me dislikeing the muslims is me being racist then so be it. Why would i like a race raised to hate me or my nation. I dont hate all blacks. As my confederate flags would suggest. I do however dislike the "******s" of every race. White black blue purple yellow or whatever. Though most of you all dotoo just probaly word it differently. So,my takeon the meaningof a word is different doesnt go with your quotes then so be it.

We don't care if you talk about Obama or not. There are a lot of folks who do not like him. I do not care for him and I did not vote for him. There are a lot of members on here that are the same way. The difference is that myself and them are not on here bitching all about it. It's four years, nobody can change that so we need to deal with it. Whining about it serves zero purpose. There are a lot of political forums that one can join with others that will commiserate with you.

I understand what you are saying, there's no doubt that political issues often become very heated. As long as it remains somewhat civil I don't see a problem, it's good for ones self to get it out and let someone know where you stand on certain things. What I don't like is when someone has no interest in a thread or what your talking about and will respond with something like " I can't wait til it's over" or " lets ban politics", if you don't like the thread stay out of it, there are plenty of other threads to comment in. This is a great site with alot good members, no matter what their veiws. It's not like elections happen everyday and this one in particular was historic with huge implications, which is the reason for so much discussion. So nothing personal against anyone, that's just the way it is.

I hope that Obama surprises me and turns out to be a fine President, but I have my doubts, especially since the Dems are in control. I think we're in for a slew of changes that could put our economy into an even nastier tailspin.

I have absolutely nothing against the man because of the color of his skin. Maybe the fact that he is black will help this country come together from that standpoint. I honestly hope that happens, as there is too much racism in this country - BOTH ways. I just wish Obama was a better fit for the job - with some experience and a proven track record.

Are we ever going to see a candidate who we can truly get excited about for the right reasons? Not because of his smooth speaking ability ( Clinton ) or the color of his skin, but because he, or she, has the right qualities, experience, values, dignity, and demeanor?

Could it be possible that the fear of him now taking over the office is what caused the market to slide nearly 1000 pionts in the last two days? Lets see what today brings...

I follow it daily as I invest and it has been either up and down before the election as well. Take it with a grain of salt.

Stop being level headed, this is the internet.

I share your same beliefs. While I will support Obama when he is doing a good job, if he falters and makes poor decisions I'm sure that I won't hold back from voicing my opinion.

Now if the republican party can just get its act together and go back to their roots....

doubling capital gains tax will surely hurt the stock market.

Post of the year, in any forum.

Well, except for hot chick pics. :D

Whether it was McCain or Obama, the winner will inherit a mess, and it will take time and a huge effort to clean it up.

Part of the market slide is the short sellers taking profits after the market rose up through Tuesday.

anyone else tired of hear about obama's dog selection??... I have a hard time believing a word that comes out of his mouth. I think he plays too much to the crowd. Anyone else notice it just always seems like he tends to say what people want to hear at the time, but if you go back and review some of his statements he contridicts himself depending on the crowd he's playing off to? I'm not saying he won't do well as president, but nobody walks on water if you know what i mean, and if nothing else comes from this election, at least we will have a president who gives the impression he knows what he's talking about unlike bush's stupid ass. Good riddance to that embarrassment of a leader.

I did. Thats why I havent been active recently.

I`m up north and its kind of interesting the way things are covered. In any event, I went where the money is and right now there is still a good economy so I took advantage of it.

However, with the trouble that GM and Ford are in its going to cause additional layoffs in Ontario which im sure is going to trickle down to the other provinces. In fact Ottawa recenty determined that Ontario is a `have not` province (first time EVER)! If one of the most stable economies in the world is starting to show trouble you know we`re only at the beginning and im 1000% sure that Obama is going to do nothing but make it worse.

From what I`ve read, he is already changing his tune on a couple of economy-related issues.

btw - on the `race issue` I remember how blacks were critical of Obama because he wasn`t black enough yet i know one person who admitted to voting for him just because he was black.

Ok I voted for McCain due to Obamas views on taxes and redistribution of wealth. I dont make 250k a year and will benifit from what he is saying, but I in no way this it is right to take more money from someone who is fortunate enough to have lucked out in life and make a good living. Cause if I one day luck out enough to find a position that I could make 250k a year I dont want to be taxed harder because of it. I work my ass off now, so why if I work harder do I have to pay more. That is my 110% reason for voting for McCain.

Do you realize the current tax structure is setup that way?

Someone making 20K is taxed at a lower rate than someone making 120K.

So I guess you a pissed at the current setup.

The Oboma plan was to tax the income above 250k at a higher rate. So if you make 250,001 you will be taxed higher on the $1 not the entire 250K.
