Volvo C30 - thoughts?

OK, so I have taken a liking to this car for some reason & I just wanted to see if I was 'out to lunch' or not. What do you guys think about the Volvo C30?

They're a 230hp 2.5 liter 5 cyl turbo, which I think sounds a helluva lot better than a 4 banger when you open up the exhaust (video at bottom of post). I like that its a 6 speed & only 3100lbs. They are mid 14 sec cars @ ~95 mph, so they're not going to melt faces or anything, but just a tune will put them to ~ 265 hp and its gotten a lot of good reviews for being a very fun and "unvolvo" volvo.

The real reason I ask, is I think that I want to replace my hummer with this little fart cart this summer... I'm open to suggestions to anything under 30k that is kinda fun/fast. For some reason I've been digging the hatch back thing for about 6 months now, so that's a plus.

Well, I'm a pretty obsessive individual... so I already looked into all of that & what it would cost & built/priced "my" car, etc. No idea what kinda bargains they're giving on cars right now, but I imagine that it would be decent. The aftermarket is pretty much the same as my TT & hummer were - overpriced, OK quality, but the subtle differences make a world of difference (in my book anyway)

All I'd do is:
debadge (free)
very light tint (cheap)
Chip ($600)
intake ($350)
cat back ($700)
lowering springs ($350, maybe)
badgeles grill ($300, unpainted.. ugh.)
HIDs ($100)
---------
$2400 aint that bad to make it exactly how I want it

I think it just reminds me a ton of my old TT, but in a hatch back & an extra cylinder?

Clark, the rear of the car took a while for it to grow on me. I have yet to drive/sit/work out a price with one yet, so this thread might just be the last option.... time will tell.

Mike, I probably wouldn't buy new wheels for it unless I really needed snow/summer tires. I like the factory wheels, so that is a big plus for me. First I gotta get the damn thing. Anybody feel like taking over my lease on my H3??

Interior looks nice. I do like the front end, however, the rear just doesn't do it for me. Not really a fan.

I like Volvos a lot but ever since that came out I thought the ass end of that thing was just butt ugly. The rest is pretty nice though.

I have always liked them...and search around you will find Volvo modifiers....it would be a great lil awd hatch with 350hp...when modded right.

checked out the dealership on west liberty after the pitt game & definitely like em. I used to be a huge fan of the S60R, wish they weren't so expensive!
