    2004 Merc. Mountaineer Electrical help

Hey guys...My 2004 mercury keeps saying door ajar, even when im sure all the doors are shut. It goes away when i start driving for a few seconds. it also has the keypad on the driver door to unlock and lock it . the two bottom buttons (the ones that lock it) have quit working. Anybody know whats going on ? any help is appreciated. thanks guys.

I thought i had remembered hearing that this happens to these trucks often...thanks for the help. Were your keypad buttons also acting up?

Yea i know! when he stole it and got it stuck a few miles up a mountain he mustve screwed something up. I made sure all doors were shut tight, and no bumps or anything. I hope its just that sensor like mentioned above.

your welcome. is that the only problem yours is having? my moms is all jacked up lol....its like it had a stroke, all the electrical stuff on the driver side is screwed up. door adjar light, power locks dont work on driver side when car is off, but when car is running they work?, driver side power seat doesnt work so the seat is stuck where its at. lol

I had no keypad issues with the Exploder. I think it's just a coincidence ... those things are plagued with problems as well.

this is a big issue with fords. try spraying some wd-40 on the latch on the inside of the door and working it up and down a few times. they get stuck open so slightly that it kicks the door light but still locks.

ok found another weird problem. I discovered that if everything is normal and fine, when i turn on the interior light manually...it sets off the door ajar light...wtf.

And thanks Rob I'll try that.
