Do you have any idea how many people are in my cell phone with the letters "SCS" behind them. You can't change the name cause it will take far too long for me to change all those entries.

I'm joking Lou. you have to do what you have to do. I'd personally not like to see the name change. I'm pretty sure they can't nail you on "stangs" but the images in the logo might be grounds for a problem. Bo had a few good options with those pics of Pittsburgh. Another idea might be to round up a few car owners with various years and take a few shots for the background.......(For instance that pic of the TERMINATORS) It's my understanding, so long as they are actual cars owned by actual people in the photo, Ford cant do a thing about it. Those cars were purchased and as the owner you are free to do with them what you want (that includes taking a picture and using it on a website). Not simply a copied/pasted image.

I had another thought Lou, check your pm's

No, I like the fact that scs is a mustang based site, if you add all other types of cars makes etc, it wont be the same

def. voted no. i like it cause its small and mustang based. i know a lot of people have made friends at the track and what not with other makes and had them sign up here. I think if you open it up to a broader range it will just start a lot more fights and arguing. For the most part, people without mustangs that sign up here are cool and actually contribute, not e-fight like might happen. think pittspeed.

edit: if you has to do it to keep the site alive, id be all for it! but im still gonna keep the sticker on my car haha

lou needs to cover his azz, as a musclecar guy i think it would be sweet to change it over. but alot of you younger mustang only guys dont realize that having different muscle on here could benefit all of you/us if you would decide to build one oneday. no matter what the site is anyone can log on and surf the site even if there a honda owner.

yes it's nice to have a local forum with a bunch of good guys, but it's kinda gettin to be the same ol stuff over and over. maybe some new faces and hobbist (even if it's not a stang) would do this site some good.

i cant speak for everyone but i know being little older i would like to see a cool site like this one with a varity of muscle. every site is gonna have a-holes but thats why we have mods. and there delete button. lol

i vote dont change it, get rid of the pony logo. You turn it into a muscle car forum and every numbnut that has a civic with a CAI will be on here. If it is turned into a muscle car site fine, but there needs to be strict policing and no talk of imports/fwd allowed at all

I vote no. I see no reason to. I can see why ford's crackdown on trademark infringement has you thinking about this Lou, but based on what has come to light on the other site i don't see any reason to worry. The picture on the front banner is all I can being a potential problem, but even that is a stretch I think. I'm not an attorney, but I don't see where there is anything on this site to make it or you a target. JMO.

i voted no, because like most of the guys on here scs is dedicated to mustangs and the people that own them. if u have to change it for legal purposes then do what u have to do but im for the the name the site has now, and by the way thanks for the advise on the clutch setup for the notch. u the man lou

I also would say no unless it came to you getting into trouble over it.Its been mentioned numerous times and I dont really see how they could nail you for "stangs" either, other than the banner at the top maybe and Bo gave you some nice alternatives to that. I am a member of another small message board that has a scrolling banner on the top with two members cars pictured on it with their handle name and it randomly scrolls every time a new page is opened. How much work that was, I dont know but its a cool idea to see everybodys car constantly. Just an idea... allot of good points have been made for each arguement. We could always benefit from more knowledge on the site but with that as stated before it brings more a-hats obviously! But ultimately, its up to Lou and the mods and I am sure they will make the right decision! Its sad that it has to come to this because the people (majority) that make up those sites that are being attacked are supporting Ford by driveing their vehicles and whatnot. Enough of me rambling, I am not sayign anything everybody doesnt already know :D

I voted NO! I like what this site has to offer and the people that are on it. Another thread i just read on here a guy got ripped off on an engine block. With the ppl that are on here now, that wont happen. The people on here are just good people who share the same thing. The love of a mustang and anything powered by Ford. well...that in most likely someone on here knows where one another lives so if business isnt conducted in the way it should be..then im sure an a$$ beating be on the way for that individual who tries to pull a stunt like what happened on corral.

Personally i dont care if Ford gets bailed out. Maybe if they dont they can bring down the prices and get back to reality with the way things are. no more 50-60k diesel trucks and 40k gas ones. But i like Steelcitystangs the way it stands. Screw ford!

Lou Im sure that somebody on here has an attorney friend Maybe ask them what the consequences would be if the letter of demand showed up I wonder, that if it showed up would you then have to appear in court and have those costs to incur ... I would try and find that out before that letter would show up ....

ok im sure if Ford said something you wouldnt be in trouble right away....im sure they will ask you to remove whatever they dont like BEFORE you get into any sort of trouble. i doubt they'll send you a letter saying you are going to court as soon as they find out about the site...thats just what i think though so who knows

Funny how all Ford would turn around and screw people over and sue them and such for using a dumb name lol........ Yet there are people out there who worship ford when they will stab you in the back as soon as you turn around lol

I wasn't sure earlier today, but I voted no now. I don't see any reason to change the name. Ford doesn't have a leg to stand on coming after this site. I've met a lot of good friends and acquaintances on this board. I'm glad it's here, I think it's great and I would really hate to see it change.

If there were a hell no option I'd pick it. you change it to steelcitymusclecars, this'll turn into another pittspeed; too diverse with too many biases. I like the people here. And why is this suddenly a problem whenever they're not making out too well?

I voted no also. I like the idea of a local Mustang site. If it is going to cause Lou problems then I would change my vote. Everyone on here should chip in a few bucks and buy an hour with a lawyer. I wouldn't think Ford could even do anything about the word "Stangs". Its not like a bunch of unlicensed stuff is getting sold on here.
Now with that all being said if Lou wanted to change it because he ordered that new Challenger that would be all good too.

I'm more a lurker around here, but my vote is no. I found and joined because this is a local Mustang site, I come back because they're not much BS. I grew up a GM fan and still have a place for them, but my current passion is Mustangs. I've never been over to pittspeed and from comments above it doesn't seem like I miss anything over there, if that type of stuff came over here I'd probably lose interest.

If you gotta change the name to avoid the c&d letters then that is understandable, does it have to be steelcitymusclecar? Since choosing another name would end up costing you personal money, my guess is no. I'd think everyone who loves the site would be willing to pony up a buck, but then that could lead to other headaches.

What do they want $5000 for, do they say? Really that's none of my business, mere curiosity, don't feel obligated to answer. Perhaps asking what specifically offended them and offering to come to a peaceful and reasonable resolution - then again these are lawyers and that may be too much to ask.
